In 1949, one hundred men travelled from St Helena to Britain to begin new lives. Their remarkable and often overlooked story is explored in the documentary One Hundred Men.

Join us this Saturday for a powerful documentary by Daniel Yon that documents the remarkable story of one hundred men who, in 1949, the year after the arrival of HMT Windrush, were recruited from the Island of St Helena, part of the British Empire, in the South Atlantic to work as agricultural labourers in England.

It's one of four special Saturday events taking place during Drawn into your Presence, each offering a different perspective on history, identity and storytelling.

📌Free admission
See you there.

Today, the doors open.

For the next month, St James' Clapham becomes home to stories that span generations, through @jimgroverphoto's award-winning photography, Victorian art, local history and one extraordinary family Bible.

Whether you're a regular gallery-goer, a history enthusiast or simply looking for something different to do this autumn, we'd love to welcome you.

Come along and take home a free card featuring a beautiful engraving of The Madonna della Seggiola, originally painted by High Renaissance master Raphael around 1513–1514 - a small reminder of a remarkable exhibition.

Sit next to me.
Remember the games we used to play?
Take a memory from deep in your soul, don’t say a word just imagine the possibilities.
I will meet you there, in this unknown place, a fragment of what could have been, had fate not played this cruel game.
And, there I will be who I used to be, not this shell of disillusionments, filled with nothing but regret.
There I will smile and whisper the words I was too scared to utter.
There I will be all that I never dared to be.
And, if you believe in fairytales, then let us make this our own, where we never have to fear the power of words said in angst, where our lips are meant to meet slowly and softly in an eternal embrace.

To our bellissima Northcote Road,

After many wonderful years filled with unforgettable memories, we’re getting ready to turn the page on a very special chapter of our story.

Made in Italy Battersea, our beloved home on Northcote Road, is transforming: not because something was missing, but because something even closer to our hearts is calling.

This restaurant has been more than just a place to eat. It’s been a corner of Italy tucked into SW11, where flour flew, pizzas danced out of the oven and friendships were made over a glass of red and a shared tiramisù. It’s where our team poured their passion, where you, the most beautiful community, brought your love and, together, we built something truly magical.

For that, we are endlessly grateful.

But as all beautiful stories evolve, so does this one. While you may not see “Made in Italy 3.0” on the sign anymore, know this: the spirit of Made in Italy will live on proudly within our new family.

An exciting new chapter is beginning just where the last one ends in Northcote Rd. Our pizzaioli and the same team are not going anywhere. They’re being adopted into the warm embrace of La Mia Mamma ( @lamiamammalondon ) the first UK restaurant run by real Italian mothers, whose hearts and heritage shape every dish.

The sign will change but the soul, the craft and the slow-fermented sourdough pizza you’ve loved will stay. A dedicated pizza corner will remain on La Mia Mamma’s menu, a seed of Made in Italy that continues to grow, right here, where it all began.

This is not a goodbye. It’s a celebration of everything we’ve built and a toast to what’s next.

For the real aficionados, you can still find Made in Italy in King’s Rd Chelsea SW35EL.

From the bottom of our hearts GRAZIE for every plate shared, every memory made and every moment of support.

We can’t wait to welcome you into this new chapter, with the same team and even more amore!

Find our Battersea team and discover about the exclusive soft opening preview on June 11th at @lamiamammalondon

Big hugs and GRAZIE,
Peppe, Sara, Angelo, Valentina & The Made in Italy Team in Northcote Rd ❤️
