There's no way to sum up the magic and big feelings of Saturday's last day at Lloyd Center. It was honestly overwhelming. I was there from 9am til past closing time. As the crowd thinned around 8pm I very slowly inched toward the exit. I kept stopping and chatting with mall security- showing me pictures of the kid stuck in the claw machine, checking in with the sweet cleaning crew about all the dirt trails left from plants that were "liberated"... I kept trying to take a one last lap around by myself to have a moment to reflect.. but I couldn't. I kept running into people I wanted to hug or thank or just sit with for a second. I stopped and talked with someone for a quick interview who asked what my favorite Lloyd Center memory was. I hadn't cried all day. That one broke me. Too many beautiful moments. 💘 LLONG LLIVE LLOYD.

Polari loves and lives to give back to our community. We do it with our time and money, but also through our actions in our day to day lives.

Last year, we were able to raise $2,500 for @smyrcpdx, a local PDX queer youth program that provides resources to kids ages 13-24.

SMYRC provides gender affirming care, a clothing closet, food pantry, hygiene supplies, safe sex supplies, personal check ins, affinity groups, mental health and counciling, and so many other additional resources and support. They've been around since 1988 and deserve so much love and support.

We were so lucky, last year, to have so many donors to our raffle! People walked away with prizes, sure, but knowing that the money they spent on tickets went toward a program that makes lasting positive impact was the true prize 💖

Thank you to all the organizations that helped us achieve this goal last year! We couldn't have had as much fun without your support!

If you know of, or are a business, that would like to help support our project, please reach out! We are looking for donors to have another spectacular raffle!

This is it. Join us for the final @foodcourt5000 mall walk at the historic Lloyd Center mall before it closes to the public on August 8. Together, we’ll celebrate the place where thousands of people found friendship, movement, nostalgia, and joy. For one unforgettable farewell, we’re turning the mall into a giant silent disco featuring live DJs from @snapdanceparty (the legendary 90s dance party since 2007) with @heartbeatsilentdisco in partnership with @communitybeatsorg
Headphone reservations are $10 through Eventbrite (link in bio) and are limited so reserve yours early! Every reservation helps fund a mobile sound system so the FC5K can continue creating joyful, radically accessible community walks long after Lloyd Center’s doors close 💖

Please note- the FC5K isn’t done walking! We’re gonna keep the retro walks going all across Portland until we land in our new home this fall. Subscribe to our email at foodcourt5k.com to see where we’re strutting next!
