Artist Commission Award: “What do you hear when you think about the future?” Griet Beyaert

In her work Beyaert explores our perception of the world. Using only glass powders she examines the constraints of the material, resulting in diaphanous, crystalline glass sculptures. These forms are then used for sound exploration; combined with programming, projection, light and video they result in both individual and collaborative performances, workshops and video performances.
Griet has worked with glass in a professional capacity for almost ten years. First producing sculptural pieces, her glass based work has evolved into collaborative installations and more recently to sound work and video performances.

Icechallenge.org Fundraiser Day 4 Part 2 - After our morning beach cleanup we moved on to our reforestation project with the OTOP Centre in Kui Buri We met with the community members and heads of the village and DNP. They explained the importance of creating a coexistence between the community and the elephants. They shared with us the successful implementations already in use and how they plan to improve upon them.

From there we viewed the area that was once the pathway for the elephants migration, taken for farming, now returned to the national park for the elephants.
We helped with replanting of the area by shooting the seed balls we’d made into the cleared area. During this, it had started to rain... we took this as a good sign. After a traditional Thai lunch at Farmhouse Hill Restaurant we’d headed off to Kui Buri National Park to clean up a watering well that the elephants and other wildlife use. It’s important to keep them clean for the elephants survival. Participants made a dirty job fun!! Our last event for the day, a Safari ride to see the elephants in the wild. We’d caught a glimpse of the majestic Asian elephants through the trees. What an awesome experience!!

Icechallenge.org Fundraiser
Day 2- Theme for the day,”It’s all about the love, let the shit go!” ~Wim Hof
We started the day with enthusiasm, ready to take on the Ice Challenge! Ready to help @iceman_hof @fallonlovesnature and @bring_the_elephant_home change consciousness in humanity by reconnecting people with themselves and nature. By reconnecting we create real change from the heart, allowing coexistence between nature and humans to thrive.
Iceman Wim Hof, gave inspirational talks and encouragement throughout the day. Teaching us how to let go of the mind and feel our way through life. Beginning with his amazing breathing session, taking a 10 min Ice Bath!, stone juggling (I think the Stone juggling was more difficult to master than the Ice Bath for some, lol), creating beautiful elephant drawings with @jaimeepaul and creating a life size elephant sculpture with @fallonlovesnature in commemoration of our global community supporting the Asian elephants right to be free and wild. There was lots of hugging, singing, screaming and most of all love!! @iceman_hof @bring_the_elephant_home @adocumentree @treemanity @enahm_hof @laura.hof.life @bizzcola @see_saic @saic_sea @saiclife 📷: @jmrabin @sammcc82 @chong #thailand #nationalpark #icechallengefundraiser #wimhof #iceman #fallonlovesnature #innerfire #innerpower #innerpeace #nature #wearebeast #icebaths #flow #itsallaboutthelove #connectingwithnature #coexistance #harmony #love #naturelovers #humanelephantcoexistence #elephants #wimhofmethod #breathmotherfucker #breathe #protectwhatyoulove #elephantconservation #elephantlover #om #fundraiser
