Elegance in Stillness. ✨

A still-life study exploring the delicate relationship between form, light, transparency, and balance.

The vase and wine glass create a quiet composition where simplicity becomes the subject. Through subtle tonal values, reflections, shadows, and carefully observed details, I aimed to capture the atmosphere and character of these everyday forms.

A study of light, proportion, texture, and negative space — finding beauty in the stillness of an ordinary moment.

**Thirsty Bird 🐦💧✏️**

A simple drawing of a thirsty bird, but one that gave me a chance to focus on much more than just getting the bird itself right. I wanted to capture the feeling of the moment — the bird looking for water and the small details that make the scene feel more natural and alive.

One of the main things I focused on was getting the bird’s shape, proportions and posture right. Birds can look quite simple at first, but small changes in the beak, feathers, eyes and body position can completely change how they look. I tried to keep the drawing natural rather than making everything look too perfect.

The shading was probably one of my favourite parts of this work. I started with lighter layers and gradually built up the darker areas, especially around the feathers, underneath the body and in the areas where shadows naturally fall. I also tried to use different levels of pressure with the pencil to create changes in texture and tone.

I really enjoyed watching the bird slowly take shape. At the beginning, it was just a few basic outlines, but as I added more shading, feather details and shadows, the drawing started to feel much more complete. The water was also a fun detail to work on because I had to think about reflections, highlights and how to make it look different from the surrounding surfaces.

This piece reminded me that even a simple everyday moment can tell a story when you take the time to observe it. It was a good opportunity to practise pencil shading, texture, proportions and creating emotion through a drawing.

Definitely another piece that helped me understand light, shadow and detail a little better. Still learning, still experimenting, and hopefully getting a little better with every drawing. 🐦✏️💧🖼️✨

Fruit Bowl 🍎✏️

A simple fruit bowl, but definitely not as simple to draw as it looks. I wanted to focus mainly on getting the shapes and proportions right and making the fruits look natural instead of too perfect. It was also a good chance to practise how different surfaces, fruits and forms look when they are drawn only with pencil.

The shading was probably my favourite part of this work. I started with very light layers and slowly built up the darker areas, especially around the edges, where the fruits overlap, and underneath the fruit basket. Getting the right balance between the highlights and shadows took quite a bit of patience, but that’s what slowly brought the drawing together.

I really enjoyed seeing the drawing change as I kept adding more layers. At the beginning, it was just a few outlines on a blank page, and by the end, the small details in the shadows, textures and fruit basket made the whole thing feel much more complete. Still life is great practice for this because even everyday objects can have so many little details when you actually take the time to look at them.

Definitely a piece that helped me understand pencil shading a little better and made me want to keep experimenting with different levels of light, dark and texture. Still learning, still practising, and hopefully getting a little better with every drawing. ✏️🖼️🍎✨

Before — The First Lines ✏️☕

Every drawing begins with something simple.

A few lines. A few shapes. Maybe a little uncertainty.

This coffee cup and saucer started as nothing more than an idea on paper. The proportions weren’t perfect, the details weren’t there yet, and there was still a long way to go.

But that’s the beauty of starting.

You don’t have to see the finished picture to begin. You just have to take the first step.

Message: Don’t be afraid of imperfect beginnings. Every masterpiece starts with a few simple lines. Keep going. ✨

Sometimes, the biggest changes come from the smallest details.

What began as a few simple lines slowly became a coffee cup and saucer — shaped by patience, practice, observation and time.

The drawing didn’t become better all at once. It improved one detail at a time.

And maybe life works the same way.

Message: You don’t have to become your best version overnight. Keep working on the little things. With patience and consistency, small improvements can create something beautiful. ❤️

A Kettle With a Message ☕✨

Sometimes, the simplest things bring the most comfort.

A kettle may look ordinary, but it represents warmth, patience, and preparation. The gentle sound of water heating reminds us that good things take a little time. Just like a kettle, we may feel the pressure building inside us—but eventually, that pressure can turn into something useful and meaningful.

Message: Don’t rush your journey. Keep going, stay patient, and remember that even ordinary things can create extraordinary moments. ❤️

🎨 A little more about this piece…

This drawing was all about learning to slow down and actually see what was in front of me. From the smallest details to the contrast between light and shadow, I tried to capture as much depth and realism as possible.

It wasn’t perfect from the beginning — there were plenty of moments where I had to erase, redraw, adjust and try again. But that’s what I enjoy most about drawing: watching something slowly take shape through patience and persistence.

I’m really happy with how this one turned out, and I’d genuinely love to know what you think. ❤️

What’s the first thing you noticed when you looked at the drawing? 👀🎨

More artwork coming soon! ✨ 🎨 A Study in Light, Shadow & Detail

There’s something special about still-life drawing. At first, it may look like a simple arrangement of objects, but when you really look at it, there are so many little details to discover — the way light falls across a surface, the subtle changes in tone, the shadows, textures, reflections, and the shapes that make everything come together.

Art reminds me that sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. 🖤

This is one of those pieces where the process was just as important as the finished drawing.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it. ✨

From watching planes take off and wondering where they were headed, to finally sitting in business class and experiencing it for myself—life has a funny way of reminding you that every journey is made up of small moments, big dreams, and the people who stand beside you.

This flight feels a little more special because it wasn’t just an upgrade—it was a reminder of how fortunate I am to have people in my life who support me, encourage me, and celebrate every milestone, no matter how big or small. A huge thank you to my mom for using her points to make this experience possible.

As I sit here at 35,000 feet, I’m reminded that success is rarely a solo journey. Behind every achievement, there are countless sacrifices, lessons, and people quietly helping us move forward. Sometimes, it’s easy to focus only on the destination, but moments like these remind us to appreciate the journey and the people who make it memorable.

There is still so much to learn, so many places to see, and so many goals to achieve. This is just one flight, one chapter, and one memory among many that I hope to create in the years ahead. For now, I’m simply grateful—for the experience, for my family, and for the opportunity to keep dreaming bigger.

Here’s to aiming higher, staying humble, and never forgetting where you started. ✈️❤️

After a hectic and incredibly insightful few days interning with the Education Secretary of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, it was time to head back to Delhi.

My Premium Economy journey from Bhopal to Delhi on an ex-Vistara Air India flight offered the perfect chance to unwind and reflect. From experiencing the workings of public policy and education administration to enjoying the comfort of a premium cabin above the clouds, the past week has been a reminder that some of the best learning happens beyond the classroom.

Grateful for the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to leadership, governance, and the impact of education at scale. Here’s to continuing to learn, explore, and embrace every opportunity that comes my way.

From the City of Lakes to the Capital—one journey ends, and another begins. ✈️
