Dannielle Fickenworth has shown balance, compassion, growth, and resilience in her time at NPRC.

The journey behind my graduation 🎓❤️

May 2, 2015. A Saturday morning that changed my life forever.

My mum woke my siblings and me up in a hurry and dressed us without explanation. The next thing I knew, we were refugees in Mahama Refugee Camp—with no home, no stability, and no idea what the future held.

For months, we lived without proper education, food, or a place to call home. I remember my parents saying their greatest pain was seeing their children grow up without education or hope. Those words stayed with me.

Growing up in the camp was difficult, but I knew I wanted something different. I wanted an education. I wanted a future.

My journey took me from Mahama English Club, to Kepler, and eventually to Southern New Hampshire University, through scholarships, hard work, setbacks, and countless people who believed in me.

Today, I am a graduate. 🎓😭❤️

When I look at these pictures, I see the little girl whose education was interrupted, the teenager who refused to give up, and the woman who kept going despite everything.

Most importantly, I see God’s hand throughout my journey. 🙏🏽❤️

To my family, teachers, mentors, friends, organizations, and everyone who supported me—thank you.

And to the little girl I once was:

I promised you that I would become educated.
I promised you that our story would be different.
Today, I can finally say: WE DID IT. 🎓😭❤️

From a refugee camp to a university graduation—only God could write a story like this.

To God be all the glory. ❤️🎓
