Last night I had the privilege to attend the 2026 International Jazz Day All-Star Global Concert. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience! I also volunteered throughout the week for events across Chicago. My first assignment was the Welcome Reception for artists and VIPs, where Mayor Johnson presented Herbie Hancock with the key to the city. I had the chance to meet and speak with Robert Glasper and Marcus Miller, along with so many internationally renowned musicians! My second event was the post-concert afterparty, where I served as a greeter. I welcomed guests all evening including Kurt Elling, Gregory Porter, and Christian McBride. Even Herbie Hancock himself, who reached out to shake my hand! I also got to congratulate several artists on their incredible performances, including Robert Glasper and Bia Ferreira who were really kind and appreciative. Definitely an unforgettable experience! #InternationalJazzDay
