Celebrating Excellence in Leadership! ✨

Congratulations to Kendra Soh, SNMA Region IX Director, on being selected as a recipient of the CCWP Physician Leader on the Rise Scholarship at the 2026 National Medical Association Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico! 🎉🩺

Kendra’s dedication to health equity, mentorship, and leadership development has made a lasting impact through her work with SNMA and as co-founder of RWJMS ASPIRES, where she helps create pathways and opportunities for future physicians.

This honor is a reflection of her passion for serving others and empowering the next generation of physician leaders. We are incredibly proud of you, Kendra, and can’t wait to see all you’ll accomplish! 💙

Dr. Danielle Boucaud, M.D.
OB/GYN in training.
Born and raised in the Boogie Down Bronx.
Daughter of Trinidadian immigrants.
First-generation college graduate.
First-generation medical school graduate.
I’ve fought many silent battles on my journey to completing medical school. There were many moments when I didn’t know if I was going to make it to the finish line. Imposter syndrome has tormented me for as long as I can remember. During the fall semester of my second year of medical school, I underwent emergency surgery and didn’t know if I was going to wake up from that operating table.
My story isn’t pretty, but it is a testament to God’s everlasting goodness. I truly believe that I am extremely blessed. I have guardian angels in heaven and prayer warriors on earth who have been working overtime to protect me.
Black women make up only 2.8% of physicians in the United States, and today I am proud to say that I am one of them.
To the people experiencing setbacks on their academic journey: never stop fighting for what you desire in this life. Protect and nourish your dreams like they are a newborn baby. Never allow anyone else’s lack of faith in your capabilities to determine your trajectory.
Being dealt bad cards will make you a better player. Natural-born talent is nice, but it will only get you so far. It is your steadfast determination to succeed that will see you through to the end.
The length of time it takes you to reach your goal is irrelevant. This is your unique journey.
Keep going.
Keep going.
Keep going.
I’m rooting for you, and I want to see you win. ❤️
