The Fantastic Fluke Series by Sam Burns

🦊 Achillean Romance
🦊 Queer Supporting Characters
🦊 Magic, Mages, and Mayhem
🦊 Fantastic Familiars
🦊 Found Family
🦊 Age Gap since our LI, Gideon, is a ghost born in 1795.
🦊 Completed 5 book series

Thank you to @misterghostreads for bringing this series to my attention. I'm about to start book three if that gives any indication of how I feel about them 😂

Told in first person from Sage's POV, his humor, anxiety, and internal monologue is easy to connect and relate to.

One of the definite highlights of the story is the relationship between Sage and Fluke the fox. Seriously, this fox is so dang cute 🥺

I love the magic system and enjoyed seeing more of it in book 2! Also, the glossary at the front was great if I ever started feeling lost on the different types of magic.

All five are available on KU, ebook, or physical form. I myself am highly tempted to buy these depending on how the next three play out 😅

As always please check CW/TW. Blurb on slide 2 copied from Goodreads.

Side note: Totally unintentional but the tarot cards I pulled for this picture actually fit book one perfectly so that's cool 😄

Next to them and resting across the middle on to the right side page is an Amazon fire tablet displaying The Fantastic Fluke by Sam Burns. The cover has a 30 year old man standing in the center with one hand raised and glowing. Books are floating around him and trees fill the background. A fox is at his feet looking up. Above the fire tablet is an orange resin fox. A stack of books can be seen just above the one that is splayed open.

Happy Friday and 2nd Day of Pride!

My sibling took me out for an early birthday lunch since they might be busy the day of and y'all look what they got me!!

I read an ARC for Cutting Your Teeth by Caylan MacRae and I'm so freakin' happy to have a physical copy I can hold in my hands!! They also got me an adorable sleepy dragon and coin from @snookdragon - how cute! Absolutely love it!!

💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖

Bonus - Cutting Your Teeth is also perfect for #amymayjune23 prompt for today - Bi-cons (Bi MC)

Both Ezra Santos and Killian Hale, our MCs of the book, are bi and kick butt!

Ezra, on the run from his organized crime unit of a family, ends up getting turned into a vampire with a whole new set of worries - while also falling for Killian.

Killian, is a vampire, who moves from city to city with his companion Marigold to keep hunters off their tale. After saving Ezra from a fatal wound, Killian promises Ezra a life safe from his past.

Okay typing this out I'm getting some AFTG vibes sooo if you like those you might like this!

💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖

Keeping on theme with Bi-cons and vampires - you should check out Wesley from How To Bite Your Neighbor & Win A Wager by D.N. Bryn.

Wes loves playing video games, placing bets, and getting bitten by Vinny 😉 He's also trying to prove that his mother's employer, Vitalis-Barron, is behind her death.

💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖💙💜💖

Both of these great reads are also available on KU!!

As always please check TW/CW before reading.

🔮 Photo styling practice with tarot. 📷

For cards or anything that's flat, create texture with a wrinkled fabric behind them, and center the photo with a large tray or smooth plate/bowl in order to prevent things from looking too messy.

Also use small objects to create movement or direction, such as ribbon, confetti, or in this case--pebbles. I set up a curved path on both sides to link and frame the cards together. I added the ring dish of the heart because the photo needed a little bit more white.

Hope some of you found this helpful. Save/bookmark for photo inspo. I often like to shoot pics of my latest spreads and reference the readings in my journals.

♠I'm using The Weaver Tarot (Ascendant Edition) by @thethreadsoffate for this photo demonstration.
