Ultrarunner | Moab 240 and Bigfoot 200 Endurance finisher
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
It’s been over a week since I finished the Tahoe 200. I’ve wanted to post an update every day, but the reality is that I wasn’t ready; my body and brain needed sleep and a period of disconnection. After countless naps and plenty of pizza, I’m finally feeling like myself again.

The Tahoe 200 was an incredible 98-hour journey around the Lake Tahoe Rim Trail. This was the first time in seven years the race used the full loop due to previous wildfires. I felt lucky to experience the entire course, even though the burn sections were the most difficult. We navigated fallen trees, thick underbrush, and about 40 water crossings mostly at night while swarmed by mosquitoes. It might sound grueling, but to me, it’s about the adventure and the obstacles overcome to reach the finish.

200 milers are a puzzle where all the pieces have to come together in order to get you to the finish line. You have to respect the distance and terrain while managing your food, sleep, and taking care of your feet. Acknowledge the lows but don’t let them linger too long….
Our puzzle came together well, and my legs felt great during the final 13 miles, even if I was fueled almost entirely by salt water taffy and Jared blasting Natasha Bettingfield

I am so grateful to my husband for his incredible support and planning although the crew might argue that your parking skills might need some work. Huge thanks to my crew for taking a week off from their lives to wait at trailheads with snacks I often refused to eat and watching me sleep. (Josh - I’m sorry about the push pop. )Thank you for putting me back together and enduring my sleep-deprived moodiness at 2:00 AM—I owe you all so much.

To my trail sisters, Sarah, Cassady, and our new sister, B I loved spending another 200 miles with you. Trauma bonding is truly what we do best.

Now, I have seven weeks until the Bigfoot 200—the second leg of the Triple Crown and my second time on the “Darkside of the Moon.”

240 miles. My hero, my inspiration, my reminder that we can do hard things. I watched you dig deeper than ever out there. Running on just a few hours of sleep, through hot days and stormy nights, facing every element thrown your way, climbing over 10,000 feet on the edge of cliffs… you did it!!!!

At mile 67, you came running in with the biggest smile, even laughing when your hair got caught in the lugaloo zipper.

At mile 97, we got stuck in the mud… on a cliff…worried we would be the reason you don’t finish. We built a “pebbles to heaven” out of rocks and sticks just to meet you at the next aid station. Three hours later, we made it up that damn hill. Anything to get you to the finish line!!

At mile 171, you were freezing, facing one last 10,000 ft ascent into the mountains.

At mile 200, you arrived shaken from the night’s climb, but left more determined than ever.

And at mile 240, you crossed the finish line, RUNNING.

253 started. 111 didn’t finish. 54 women started. 29 didn’t finish. But you never stopped.🤍

Nick, Jackie, @stark.livin — thank you for bringing our girl to the finish. The best crew, and lifelong friends <3

⚡️ RUNNER STORY: Sarah Normand (@snormand18) ⚡️

Sarah's taking on the Moab 240 — and there's something special about it. "This year is especially meaningful because my daughter, now almost 25, will be one of my crew members and pacers," she says.

Sarah had her daughter during her freshman year of college. “In many ways, we grew up together,” she says. Coming from a modest background where her parents worked hard to make ends meet, Sarah spent years comparing herself to others, never feeling like she was enough.

But she kept showing up. And she kept pushing forward.

Fast forward to today: Sarah has conquered countless marathons, 100Ks, summited Kilimanjaro, completed a 200-miler (Bigfoot last year), and logged miles on miles across roads and trails around the world.

Now her daughter will be right there with her mom — along with two incredible pacers and the unwavering support of her son, husband, family and friends. Together, they'll trade the forests of Bigfoot for the stunning, unforgiving desert terrain.

As Sarah says, "These challenges remind me who I am… Running Moab 240 is a reminder that we can all do hard things. Sometimes it just takes the courage to take the first step!"

From growing up together to running miles alongside each other in the desert — what a full-circle moment. 🔥
