Dome Lettuce is an artist I know from Twitter and talking here and there. Well recently his album CHOPSZN from earlier this year hit my radar and I had to check it out. Going in with no expectation like I often do, I wasn’t sure what was to come. What I got was great rhymes, schemes, smart lyricism, and a good dose of humor to tie it all together!
.
Cool Song was a great start, it gives you a shot of comedy immediately and when the verse kicks in, the rapping grabbed me and shook me into attention. Dome Lettuce brings a style that’s fluid and smooth, with moments of experimentation sprinkled throughout the album. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn’t, that can range from beats to hooks and often times flows. It keeps the music interesting and unique, but also sometimes leaves me with a moment or track I’m less into. A risk that’s worth taking.
.
Dome Lettuce hits us with a full hour long album which I appreciate and gives space and time for the different sound and styles to soak in. There’s a lot of great songs here, P2UR2U, NorthBeast Cypher feat Trinker, Tom Cruise Control feat Brother Tom Sos, Rats will be the last to survive & Weed Man of the Apocalypse being some of my favorites. I’d say the deeper into the album you get, the more experimental sounds and styles get. I prefer the front half just a bit but the whole album is dope in its uniqueness.
.
I was down with Dome Lettuce on Twitter already, but now I’m a fan of the music side too. For those that haven’t tuned in this is a good starting point and only one of many projects I’ve seen he’s dropped in 2026, with Mixed Greens having just dropped. So check him out and see what you think!
