“I’m sorry, but we have a small crowd.”

My response: “No worries. Whoever is meant to be here will be here, and we’re going to make it a good time.”

And that’s exactly what we did. ❤️

Monterey, CA, thank you for the memories and for allowing me to take you on this journey through my show.

We laughed, we cried, and we felt so many emotions throughout this journey on stage. Thank you for embracing us, our story, and the show. Your presence, energy, and support meant more than you know.

Until we meet again.

The tour continues in Peoria, AZ, on October 3rd!

Much love! ❤️🙏

We’ve got a show tomorrow in Monterey, CA! 🎭❤️

My solo show, Let’s Laugh a Little (Vamos a Reír un Poco), is coming to a new audience, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to share this story—to laugh, reflect, and connect.

If you have friends in the area, please let them know, tag them, and repost! 🙏🏽❤️
Details are in the comments and on the next slide.

What an amazing ride this has been with this show and the journey of self-producing it.

We’ve invested our own money into this vision, and the love, support, and humanity we’ve received along the way have been incredible.

It’s not about the money. It’s about the story, creating memories, connecting with people, and continuing to do what you love.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey. We’re just getting started. ❤️🙏🏽

The show is officially hitting the road! 🚐✨

The trunk is packed. The props are packed. The costumes are packed. An alarming number of mysterious tubes are packed. 😂

And next week, Polly and her whole Army of One are heading to Monterey!

This show is deeply personal to me—a funny, fierce and tender story about growing up different, searching for belonging, and finally finding the courage to become who you were all along.

I would absolutely love to see you there.

One week from tonight, I’ll walk onto a stage in Monterey and perform Polly’s Army of One.

I imagined this final week would be filled with excitement, nerves, rehearsals and frantic searches for things I was absolutely certain I had packed.

Instead, I am moving through it while grieving the death of my brother.

Grief and creativity make strange companions. One moment I’m deep inside the show, laughing at a character I love. The next, everything stops and the loss washes over me again.

I’m discovering that perseverance doesn’t mean pushing grief aside. It means letting grief come along. It means resting when I need to rest, rehearsing when I can, and trusting that I don’t have to arrive onstage untouched by what has happened.

This show is about a kid trying to understand who she is. It’s about family, first love, belonging, hiding, courage—and the long journey toward becoming yourself.

My brother was part of that journey. In ways both complicated and tender, he helped me learn how to be the boy I thought I needed to become.

So next week, I will carry him with me.

LOOK! THERE WE ARE! 💛🎭
Weekend Two of the FIRST Annual Central Coast Solo Festival — and I’m getting ridiculously excited!
September 25 & 26, I get to share the stage with two terrific and award winning solo performers:
✨ Rick Wind Herrera — Vamos a Reír un Poco (Let’s Laugh a Little)
🌈 Me! — Polly’s Army of One
✨ Kirk McGee — The Honorable Herbert Peabody
Three performers. Three completely different stories. Two nights of solo theatre.
And I LOVE that we get to be part of the very first Central Coast Solo Festival, created and produced by @soapboxstageworks. Here’s to the beginning of a wonderful new Monterey theatre tradition!
