It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but so much has gone by since my marathon debut race where I ran 2:35 in intense conditions and a really hilly course. I wasn’t satisfied with my performance at all but as I pursue my goal to OTQ for 2028 in the marathon, I’ve felt more eager. During the summer I took my time to build up to 100 miles and enjoyed the process overall! During my base building I:

- enjoyed quality time with people I love and care for
- started @dailydunessports run club
- started my coaching journey with @socaleliterc
- incorporated myself into the running community
- started to understand community support and wanted to have a major impact in the Coachella Valley the same way others have with the running community
- product testing for @runningwarehouse

I’ve also had 3 races, @longbeachmarathon in the Half marathon where I finished 5th (6th technically) in 1:08:18. I was completely unsatisfied with this time as my goal was 63-64 minutes. I had became overwhelmed with the crowd and weaving in through marathoners so I mentally gave up, but I know I’m capable of that time on the perfect day.

The second race I did was the @tramroadchallenge after the Long Beach half, where I ran a time of 28:08. I was on pace to break the course record within the first two miles but died out painfully as I severely underestimated the hills. I felt pretty happy with the performance considering I never ran hills before, but since then I’ve been incorporating hills once a week.

The last race I did was the @ymcadesert Howl at the Moon 5k which was a fun community event and I got to dress up.

Between all these races and even before, I had been going through personal struggles and depression. I remind myself that I have a lot of support around me and that I am not alone. I’ve been surrounding myself with people who help me become the best version of myself when I feel lonely or isolated because of my lifestyle. I’m extremely grateful for all the support I’ve had as I continue to train. My next major race before @runcim262 is @runwithlosmuertos on November 7th, where I plan on breaking my own course record. Thank you all for your support!
