POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As life evolves, so should the place we call home. Whether seeking greater safety, access to care, or a more connected community, every transition deserves compassion, expertise, and peace of mind.

A Compass Plus agent brings more than real estate experience. As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), we uphold the highest ethical standards, bring specialized knowledge, and understand that who you welcome into your home matters. We know the sale of a home often funds life’s next chapter, AND the relationship comes before the transaction. Our role is to bring the right people, resources, and guidance together, making every step feel less overwhelming.

You don’t have to navigate life’s biggest transitions alone. With a certified CSA/Compass Plus agent by your side, you have a trusted partner for every piece of the puzzle. Find a Compass Plus agent near you to start the conversation: Compassplusseniors.com. Or drop your contact here for a confidential call to help you get started.

A move later in life can involve much more than deciding where to live. 🤍✨

There may be family conversations, changing priorities and years of memories tied to a home.

As a Certified Senior Advisor®, I bring a broader understanding of these transitions to the real estate process—helping older adults and their families explore their housing options, connect with trusted professionals and move forward at a pace that feels right.

Because it’s more than a move.

Como Certified Senior Advisor®, aporto una comprensión más amplia a este proceso—ayudando a adultos mayores y sus familias a explorar sus opciones de vivienda, conectarse con profesionales de confianza y avanzar a su propio ritmo.

Real estate conversations don’t always begin with, “I’m ready to sell”.

Sometimes they start with a parent who may need a different living situation, questions about downsizing, or a family simply trying to understand what their options are. Those are the conversations I really value, because there doesn’t have to be an immediate transaction at the end of them.

Being part of Compass Plus and a Certified Senior Advisor® gives me an even stronger network of resources to draw from when my clients and their families need support beyond the real estate piece.

If you’re starting to think about what may come next for yourself or someone you love, I’m always happy to be a resource🤎 DM “PLANNING OVER PANIC” to get started!

Real estate may be part of an older adult’s transition. It is rarely the whole story.

For the second consecutive year, I attended the Society of Certified Senior Advisors conference, joined by approximately 80 fellow Compass Plus agents and a much broader community of professionals serving older adults.

Care managers. Senior living advisors. Financial and insurance professionals. Organizers. Healthcare advocates. Aging-in-place specialists.

Different areas of expertise, but a shared purpose: helping older adults and their families prepare for the future and navigate the challenges already in front of them.

My role is not simply to help close a transaction. It is to listen, understand the larger picture and help connect each family with the guidance their particular circumstances require, both here in Los Angeles or through trusted relationships across the country.

Because none of us has every answer. And the best guidance often begins with knowing who
else should be at the table.

I came home from the Society of Certified Senior Advisors conference in Denver feeling incredibly rich.
Not because of a paycheck.

Because of what I like to call the second paycheck of working in aging services.

This weekend, I had the privilege of speaking at the Society of Certified Senior Advisors Conference, surrounded by professionals from across aging services — legal, financial services, home care, hospice, senior living, real estate, care management, technology, advocacy, and more.

Different professions. Different expertise. One shared purpose:
How do we do better for older adults and the families who love them?
That is the second paycheck.
The conversations. The connections. The ideas. The collaborations. The reminder that this work is so much bigger than any one of us.

I’ve been a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® for well over a decade, and somehow, this was my first CSA national conference. Life happened. Business happened. Four kids happened. There was always a reason not to go.

Now I’m wondering why I waited so long.
Because we need rooms like this.

We need the hallway conversations that turn into collaborations. We need people from other disciplines to challenge our thinking. And sometimes, we need someone else’s fire to reignite our own.

So, to my fellow professionals in aging services: start looking at your 2027 conferences now.

Choose the rooms you need to be in. Put them on the calendar. Protect the time. And GO.

Your next great idea, collaborator, referral partner, friend — or reminder of why you started doing this work — may be waiting in that room.

Thank you to the Society of Certified Senior Advisors and everyone who made Denver so meaningful.

I arrived excited to speak.

I left inspired to do even more. And that might just be the best paycheck of all. ❤️

This weekend, 80 agents from Compass Plus spent the weekend at the Society of Certified Senior Advisors conference.

Two days of sessions on how real estate agents and CSAs can better support older adults through some of the biggest transitions of their lives. So many great speakers and presentations.

One of those sessions was a panel held by the Compass Plus Board, on how we’re ready to support seniors through the transition process. Standing room only. No empty chairs.

Rightsizing. Aging in place. The family conversations that never feel simple. It means something that agents are choosing to spend a weekend getting better at this part of the job, not just the sales part.

If you have family anywhere in the country going through this, I can connect you to a Compass Plus agent I actually know. Not just a name on a website.

Comment SENIOR and I’ll send you my Senior Transition Guide.

This weekend at the CSA Conference reminded me how grateful I am to be doing work that means so much to me.

Being a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) has changed the way I think about serving my senior clients and their families. Real estate may be what brings us together, but often there is so much more happening behind the scenes. Family conversations, big decisions, changing needs, and emotional transitions are all part of the journey.

One of the highlights of the weekend was spending time with my Compass Plus colleagues from across the country. I’m especially proud to serve as Membership Chair and to be part of a group that shares such a genuine commitment to supporting older adults and their families.

It was wonderful to be together with Ruth Reffkin, founder of Compass Plus, Wendy Moore, our president, our founding Board members, and so many Compass Plus agents who have helped build this community. There is something pretty special about being in a room with people who believe in the same mission, sharing ideas, learning from each other, and, of course, having some fun along the way! @compassplusdivision

I’m coming home with new knowledge, great conversations, stronger connections, and an even deeper appreciation for the responsibility we have when families trust us during an important transition in their lives.

Thank you to The Society of Certified Senior Advisors for bringing us together and for continuing to educate and support professionals who serve older adults. @societycsa

Weekends like this remind me how much I love what I do, and how grateful I am for the people I learn from and the families who trust me to be part of their journey.

This weekend, I received a gift I wasn’t even in the room to hear.

During the CSA Conference, Ruth Reffkin, founder of @compassplusdivision , shared that Compass Plus would not be what it is today without the support I gave her and the team in those early days.

When I heard what she said, I was embarrassed, humbled…and honestly, a little emotional. Because there was never a contract or invoice attached to much of that work. There wasn’t a way to monetize the hours, ideas, conversations, introductions, encouragement and energy I poured into something I deeply believed needed to exist.
It just felt like the right thing to do.

I believed then, and even more strongly today, that real estate professionals serving older adults need to understand far more than how to sell a house. They need to understand aging, family dynamics, care, grief and loss, housing transitions, decision-making and the emotional weight of leaving a longtime home.

That’s why I encouraged Ruth to have Compass Plus agents pursue the Certified Senior Advisor designation—to develop a more holistic understanding of the people and families they serve.

Then I arrived at the conference and saw more than 80 Compass Plus agents there. My eyes filled with tears because suddenly, I could see the ripple.

I can personally serve only so many families through Dovetail Companies. But if I can educate, encourage, connect or inspire professionals who will each serve hundreds more? That’s impact far beyond anything I could accomplish alone.

Some of our greatest contributions may never appear on a balance sheet. Sometimes you give your time, share the idea, make the introduction, mentor someone, open a door or help build something you may never own—not because you’re guaranteed something in return, but because you believe the world will be better if it exists.
Not every return on investment is financial. Some returns are measured in ripples.

Thank you, Ruth, and the entire Compass Plus community. Seeing what you’ve built reminded me that seeds planted with the right intention can grow far beyond anything we imagined.

And sometimes, we’re lucky enough to be standing there when they bloom.

Standing room only at the CSA conference when our Compass Plus board spoke this week. 80 CSAs from across the country in one room, all there for the same reason: they needed to know how to help when families are asking “What’s next for mom or dad?”

Because that’s not really a real estate question. It’s a life transition question. And Compass Plus exists to be the team that knows the difference.

It’s the kind of room where you realize this work matters way more than any transaction ever could.

If you’re navigating this with someone you love, we want to hear your story. What makes home special to them? What does the next chapter look like? DM me. We’re here to listen and help figure it out together.
