It was an honour to welcome dance educators from all over Canada and the US to the WSD studios for the Society of Classical Ballet annual seminar.

Attendees took part in classes and workshops on building postural alignment, pirouette progressions and injury prevention for dancers, as well as refined Vaganova styling and musical forms and tempos.

We can’t wait to implement our learning in the studio!

What a special weekend. ❤️

When a group of former professional ballet dancers and teachers come together for a whole weekend of learning, growing, sharing, and inspiring each other, something pretty amazing happens. And to top it all off Craig Wingrove, the piano master himself, closed out the weekend.

Hearing that music took us all right back to the days when we were dancing, back to the studio, the stage, and those moments when the music and the dancer just became one.

There were so many tears, so many memories, and so many smiles. It was like stepping back in time for a little while. I feel so lucky and honoured to have ballet in my life. To still be learning, still teaching, still growing, and to be surrounded by people who love ballet as much as I do is something I will always be grateful for. 🩰

Ballet has been such a huge part of who I am, and weekends like this remind me just how lucky I am to still have that passion in my life.

Thank you, Craig, for the music and for bringing back so many beautiful memories. What a weekend. ❤️.

Great meeting everyone at the @danceteacherexpos in Toronto this week. Thanks for all the chats, and for showing up to the workshops. But mostly thank you for taking an interest in dancers health and how collectively, we can do better.

✨ Ballet Examinations Complete! ✨

We are so incredibly proud of all of our dancers for their hard work and dedication leading up to their ballet examinations. Each student stepped into their examination with focus, determination, and confidence, and it has been amazing to watch how much everyone has grown throughout this season. 🩰. We have watched improvements in technique, artistry, and strength, and we could not be prouder of the effort every dancer put into their training.

A huge thank you to the @societyofclassicalballet Society of Classical Ballet – Vaganova Method (SCBVM) for continuing to provide such wonderful educational opportunities and support for dancers and teachers. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Miss Donna Bender @missmadonnya for examining our students and sharing her knowledge and expertise.

Congratulations to all of our dancers and instructors on a wonderful ballet examination experience, and a special thank you to Miss Sheri for her support throughout the season. 🤍
