At the @hollywoodfringe awards ceremony last night celebrating the end of this crazy ass month!

Deciding to write and self-produce and perform my own solo show (and fully participate in the festival) while 7-8 months pregnant was a risk with no promise of reward. It was exhausting, all-consuming and intense. But I believed deep down that it was what I must do, and that I would not regret it.

Writing my piece and workshopping it with my director @valeriereneehager was a labor of love to myself. Under her guidance I excavated the truth and purpose of my current physical, emotional and spiritual transformation of becoming a mother, discovering the magic of my body transitioning from a fantasy-maker into a divine portal of life, and reconciling the deep grief that comes with relinquishing a beloved version of myself to make room for the person I am on the precipice of becoming.

Sharing this piece with my community (skrippers & artists, old friends and new), and the Fringe community (a surprisingly supportive bunch of theatre-lovers and delightful weirdos) was a trust-fall, a gift, and so undeniably fun.

I have no regrets. I am so proud of myself and my little team. I am so grateful to Lawrin and the Little Theater at the @theactorscompanyla. My sold-out run, my three added shows, my sweet and capable tech guy Kai, my co-producers @societyofthecellar and @houseoferos.la, everyone who showed up for me— I am so grateful for it all.

Since I am not currently able to work in clubs, I did something pretty unthinkable (for Fringe) and did my best to keep my overhead as low as possible so that I could make at least some money from the show instead of going into show debt (which is actually very common for Fringe shows) and I’m so happy to say that I accomplished that, and did manage to make a little bit of money. Every dollar I made from the ticket sales as well as from the fun money showers at curtain call will be going to the Baby Fund (survival) as I prepare to continue to be out of work this month preparing for labor and for the next few months as I will be postpartum with a newborn. Every bit helps, so if you bought a ticket or threw money, thank you!!

Ok after MUCH deliberation on time slots I have finally booked my final additional show!! 🥳

I’m so grateful to the Actor’s Company for offering me TWO shows in addition to my 5-show run - this has been such a fun and wild ride!!

If you want to see me perform this show for the last time, please come! I don’t anticipate performing it ever again since it is so moment-specific to this time in my life being 8 months pregnant. So this really is your last chance to see me perform it on stage!

Tickets are officially live for this Saturday at 4:30pm at @theactorscompanyla ! Please make sure to get there EARLY bc @hollywoodfringe shows start on time! And FYI my show is only 35 mins long!

Most of my performances have been late-night time slots, so I’m hoping to scoop up more of you day-walkers for this one! 😜

Had a great time tonight at the Pre-Festival party at the @theactorscompanyla !! It’s such good vibes here and I honestly couldn’t imagine premiering my show anywhere else for @hollywoodfringe. My tickets are on sale and there aren’t that many so get ‘em while you can!! I’m so excited lol.
