A few weeks ago I had a revelation. Film is the only photography medium that truly holds up against the ever changing trends of the wedding industry. I’ve taken literally millions of digital photos and no matter what I’ve done, I’ve always ended up making images that look exactly like the time they were created. You see every trend, every gear upgrade, and every new trick I’ve learned over the years. So much so that my work from 10 years ago would raise eyebrows if I tried to deliver it today. But not film. Over the past few weeks I’ve done a deep dive into my past film work and it simply reinforced the honest, slightly cliched truth: Film is truly timeless. I think at some level I’d forgotten that. Whether it was because it’s obscenely expensive to shoot film these days or because 120 film is honestly a pain in the ass to shoot on a wedding day I just stopped putting effort into it. That’s going to change though. Over the course of this summer and the fall season beyond it I’m going to be doubling down on film. I’ve been incredibly inspired by two photographers in particular, @zarastaplesweddings and @alexanderstevensphotography , who have completely opened my mind to what my work could be, and made me realize that I’ve really been sleeping on 35mm film. So this post is the blueprint. Next season is all about warmth, real color and 35mm film. I’m genuinely so excited to get started.

The night before… The best moments happen when you forget the camera is even there. 🎥✨ We always prioritize organic, real shots—especially at rehearsal dinners. It’s all about capturing the genuine laughter, the candid conversations, and the relaxed lakeside vibes before the big day. No forced poses, just pure, documentary-style storytelling. #weddingfilm #weddinginspiration #weddingfilmmaker #luxurywedding #lakewedding
