Brown belt🥶

Over the past year my life I’ve had to make some hard decisions and coming to black sheep was definitely one of the good ones. When I started coming here I was at a point in my career where training felt like a chore and jiu jitsu consumed my entire life. After I got destroyed by Beau infront of Woolf and Danny I could tell this was the place I needed to put myself in to grow as an athlete, in doing so I’ve learned a lot about jits of course and myself. Without making this any longer to read I’m forever greatful for Woolf, Cole, and Danny for everything they’ve poured into me and everyone at the gym for welcoming me into the community.

Now let’s get our brown belt fades in🥶 #blender🌪️

Also huge congrats on Woolf and Luciana getting married 🥳🥳🥳

FLASHBACK part II 📼 Saturday 7/18 @ 11am PST

There was a time when every patch on a gi told a story.

Long before clean, minimalist designs became the norm, competitors at the Mundials wore whatever kept them in the competition arena. Local businesses, fight companies, pizza shops, Açaí spots, law offices - it didn’t matter. If someone believed in your journey, they earned a spot on your gi.

“The Flashback” is our nod to that era.

This collection features lightweight, old-school, tournament-inspired tees, USA-made All-Terrain-Flex No Gi Kits, and our signature Business Suits each built with 380 GSM jackets and durable 10 oz twill cotton pants. Every suit is patched to the gills with 24 custom-designed patches, capturing the look and spirit of the sponsor-covered gi’s that defined 90’s-era Jiu Jitsu.

When we started Black Sheep we never thought it would become what it is today. It was more or less just a club in a storage closet. The part that feels most special is how many people are still around from the early days. We are forever grateful for the work everyone puts in and the love everyone has for the gym. It’s a special place and it would not be what it is without all of us appreciating it and adding to it day in and day out. To all who have been a part of what black sheep has become, thank you, we love you. Here is to our first decade and we look forward to what’s in store for the next decade.
