Oper Graz - Castor et Pollux is over.
People usually remember an opera from the moment it opens. I think I'll remember everything that happened before, around and behind it.

For months, this production quietly became part of everyday life - rehearsals, endless recitatives, changing casts...

One performance lost a principal singer. Another lost two. Some recitatives happened without a single rehearsal.
By the Dernière we had finally managed to keep almost the entire cast...
...so naturally, we lost the conductor. 😄

Under Bernhard Forck, the orchestra found a truly French Baroque voice. When he couldn't be there for the Dernière, @naorshani stepped in and carried us beautifully all the way to the final curtain.
@naninelinning_official and @shaposhnikovaofficial built a world that I genuinely loved living in.
At some point my own bright red harpsichord quietly became part of that world too - wrapped in black paper and asked to forget it had ever been red. 😃
It survived months of rehearsals, eight performances, and a few adventures no harpsichord ever asks for.

And then something happened that I hadn't expected.
This production quietly stopped feeling like a project - it became a little world.
And then, just as quietly, it became surprisingly difficult to leave.

I'll remember the absolute trust.
The feeling of walking a tightrope together through those fragile recitatives - which, to me, are conversations where you catch a breath before it is taken.

That's what I'll miss the most.
The laughter backstage. The nerves five minutes before the curtain. The ridiculous moments that somehow always became the funniest stories later. The conversations after the performances that quietly stretched past midnight because nobody really wanted to go home yet.

Somehow, this production made me genuinely happy.
And I think that's rarer than we sometimes admit.

Thank you to our wonderful singers, colleagues, stage crew, and everyone who made this wonderfully strange little Baroque world possible.
I have a feeling that one of those evenings will quietly find its way back to me - probably over a good glass of whisky.

Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!

So viele schöne Worte für meine Leitmetzerin - DANKE❣️

"[...] per non dire della splendida Corina Koller che fa della matura istitutrice di Sophie un carattere molto centrato rivelando una vocalità molto importante, che di solito fa difetto nelle interpreti di questo personaggio.

ORF 2 Portrait - "Volksoper-Besuch bei Sängerin Katia Ledoux" (part 1)

Big thank you to @bellycapelli for this super cute portrait with many extracts from performances of "Carmen", "Hoffmans Erzählungen" and "Die Fledermaus - Pride Edition". You can currently watch the whole thing on @on.orf.at .

(I loved looking back at the Carmen rehearsal videos from 1,5 years ago, because my hair was so much shorter... I'm kind of missing having short hair... might cut it off again this summer... 😅)

An absolute privilege to take part in the masterclass with the wonderful teacher Brigitte Fassbaender ✨

Learning from an artist with such extraordinary experience, knowledge, and artistic vision is truly invaluable. But what inspires me the most is the passion, generosity, and dedication she still brings to teaching and to this art form.

Deeply grateful for such an enriching and inspiring experience 🎶❤️
And many thanks to the @oper_graz for creating these inspiring artistic spaces and opportunities for young singers.

📸 @simon_petek Thanks for the photos! 🙏
