So Relevant I’m Disappearing @sofia_lebovics @sisteringdropin
August 28-30th

So Relevant I’m Disappearing is a fundraiser art and music show running from August 28-30 that replies to the city’s endless stream of tumult. Work by 20 emerging local artists reflects on what it means to live here unseen, and invites contemplation on how to exist regardless. A publication of new creative writing on theme will be sold during the run of the show, with all art, print, and magazine proceeds going to Sistering, Toronto’s only 24/7 drop-in providing support for the city’s most vulnerable populations. Join us for the opening, August 28th from 6-9pm, with live music beginning at 6:30pm.

@sofia_lebovics - Ever feel like the voice of your generation? Or… A voice of A generation?
If so, submit work to the show I’m curating with @gallery.1065 in support of @sisteringdropin, Toronto’s only 24/7 drop-in that provides low-barrier support to the city's most vulnerable women and gender-diverse populations, and have the opportunity to show your work in a gallery, have it published, or to perform.
“So relevant I’m disappearing!” responds to the question of living in Toronto: who’s prioritized vs. who's overlooked, what’s hidden vs. what’s praised, + how to exist regardless. I’m super open to different mediums, materials, concepts, genres. All proceeds from publication, art and print sales will go to Sistering. Email visual/ written work or audio files to sofialebovics@gmail.com by July 15 to be considered! More details to come.

What to include in your email:

For visual work (anything that can be shown physically):
•Artist name and title of work
•Image of piece(s) in .jpg or .png format
•Artist statement
•Materials, dimensions

For written work (poems, essays, short stories):
•Author name and title of piece
•Piece in .doc, .docx or PDF format, up to 1000 words

For requests to perform during the opening show on Aug. 28:
•Group/artist name
•2-3 recent songs, either as audio recordings or video
