Post continued….
The producers: @allschen, @sara_richardson1, @emelynepalmer and @imobanks. I don’t think I fully understand the role of a producer so this might be totally underselling the work you do, but I imagine it’s something similar to running a small country. In other words, the work you do is so indescribably big and brilliant that I can’t even comprehend just how great it is. I do know however, that everyone tucked in their proverbial shirts when you walked onto set so that must mean something. Particularly Imogen Banks. You were the brainchild and Lioness of this whole operation and i am forever grateful to be invited into this ‘pride’? If we’re sticking to the animal kingdom metaphor. Or ‘cabinet’ if we’re going with the political one. I think what I’m trying to say is that you’re the Queen or The Prime Minister to me. Maybe both…

The crew/production/unit: You’re all a bunch of legends. You’ll always be my Broken Hill family. I’m pretty confident we shared enough drunken praise for each other, that writing anything here would be doing a disservice to our previous catatonic love. I will say the camera department led by @damianwyvill shot the most gorgeous damn thing in Australia. Second to none.

And finally, The Cast: Fuck off. I hope I never see any of you again. You’ve all received enough from me.

Here’s to RFDS!

@rgmartists are my Cadbury Favourites for getting me the audition with the incomparable @mcgregorcasting, @kirstymcgregor that enabled my pride, always.
I don’t normally go in for the whole actor/character relationship thing but… it was a pleasure getting to know Matty Harris. He’s a glorious idiot who just wanted to make everyone laugh. I was very lucky to play him. And hopefully, will again…. @channel7 @7plus @screenaustralia @screennsw @endemolshineau #RFDSon7

In honour of the final episode of RFDS (Season 1…) tonight, here is a photo dump of a bunch of pretty sweet memories. Here’s to the blood, sweat and rural stoicism that went into making this beautiful beautiful show.

To the directors: @leacey717, @adrianrussell and @jeremy.h.sims. Way to make a young actor feel totally at home, respected and outright free to play. You’re all unique, dexterous superstars for a reason. I’m not the first to say it and I’m counting down the days till I can work with you all again to repeat it.

The writers: @_claire_phillips_, Ado (again), Jon and @ianjmeadows. Your work speaks for itself. What an incredibly lovely show you’ve created. I miss receiving late night dialogue calls from Clare. Those were fun, can we do that again please? Ian Meadows, I’m now speaking directly to you. The hours you put in to make this idea an on paper reality is staggering. And I probably don’t even know the half of it. I think you should seek professional help because a human being shouldn’t be able to spend that many hours awake, focused and empathetic to create something this wonderful. Whilst also being superb dad. Get outta town! You and the team have set a new benchmark for Aussie drama.

The actual @royalflyingdoc and people of Broken Hill: The BH folk are some of the most outstanding people you’ll find. Pay them a visit sometime, you won’t regret it. And If you want to know where people came up with the idea of ‘Superhero’s’, they didn’t look any further than The Royal Flying Doctors Service for inspiration. It was an honour and a privilege to don the uniform of The RFDS, even if it was for the purpose of dress ups and pretendzies. I still sit here in awe of the work you all do on a daily basis. You are nothing short of Angelic and if we were able to show the people of Australia at least a glimpse of that quality, I’m a happy man. I do however, know that we could never encapsulate just how enormous the beating heart of The RFDS truly is. To be continued in following post…
