WFR!! (So delayed, but I couldn’t accept it’s over)

10 days at camp, 1 evacuation, 1 middle school sleepover, 2 days in Oregon, 7 days in Idaho, and a million memories I couldn’t have predicted. This wasn’t MY plan. I didn’t want to leave camp, I didn’t want to go back home, I didn’t want the relationship I felt at camp to disappear. But this was God’s plan, and He knew I needed this. He showed me how to serve outside of camp, be comfortable with the unknown, and not take life so seriously!

Thank you WFR for an amazing session and keeping us and the campers safe during such chaos. Thank you to everyone I met and the impact you’ve placed on my life. I’m forever grateful God lets us share a thin slice of heaven together.

This month definitely went a little off script, but I’m grateful to be surrounded by people who helped make the best of it!

Our summer was cut 17 days short due to fires near camp. What was supposed to be a month of serving high schoolers turned into evacuating to Madras Middle School with hundreds of campers, then deciding to spend a few more days adventuring around Oregon/Idaho with my summer staffers friends.

Getting to lead this crew as Summer Staff Coordinator was such a gift. I’ve never been more impressed by a group of people. Their willingness to pivot, stay positive, and serve however they were needed was something really special to witness. I’m so grateful for these people and for a month that looked nothing like the plan.
