“People have this TV version of Malibu in their head. But once you come into the Cove, you see all walks of life.”
Honored to have our home, our story, and 1TWENTY9 featured in the new issue of Ten Men USA. When Sofie and I started making board shorts, we made a strict rule: no black pairs, no navy pairs, no focus groups, and no mass manufacturing. Ultra-limited runs of 15 to 20 pairs cut from rescued deadstock yardage—built right here where we surf, live, and hang out. Words by Jocelyn Silver. Photography by Ryan Young.

Driveway drops and deadstock rolls. Cut, sewn, and tested here in Venice/Malibu. Once the fabric runs out, the run is done. #1twenty9 #venicebeach #upcycling #deadstock #surf

Surf trips evolve as you grow older, it’s not just about the waves you score, and more about hanging with these legends…

Still terrible at taking pics so not all participants are featured but you know who you are and I love you thank you <3 extra extra love to @laura.aka.lo for planning and executing our magical Ojai weekend (with big support from @jennassullivan ), my sweet uncle @james_newtonhoward and @annica_howard for letting us stay at their oasis, and incomparable aunt @sofiehowardart for throwing me the most beautiful shower.
