I have self published my pattern WILLA, originally published in @laine_publishing ‘s 52 Weeks of Chunky Knits. 🧶 in light of current events, I will donate the proceeds of all pattern sales through February 8th to @siempreunidosla , a local organization serving the community. The pattern is available on ravelry and the @soft_haus website. I will be donating proceeds from ALL my patterns, not just this new one. I named this pattern after my daughter because I created it when I was pregnant with her - swipe to see some pics I took where I totally thought you couldn’t tell hahahaha (I was like 32 weeks already 😂). Becoming a parent radicalized me. I have a strong belief that the future can and will be better if we all work together to make it so! My father came to this country at age 21 hoping for a better life, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. Immigrants are such an important and valued part of our community. They just want to be Americans. Power back to our communities and FCUK ICE. Thanks to @avfkw for yarn support. This yarn is called bread and butter bun in the color lantana and it is gorgeous and made in the US. Thank you for reading, please take care of each other ❤️

I’m grateful for so many things this year, but especially my ability and privilege to make things with my own hands. The exploration of color, texture and shape keeps me healthy and happy, I’m so lucky to get to do this! I saw this amazing infinity cube @dumbass_yarn made and happened to have a couple free hours with childcare on Monday, so I set out to make one of my own! Followed @dumbass_yarn ‘s tutorial but subbed fabric for crocheted yarn because I’m a slow crocheter. I used 2.5 inch squares. I highly recommend making your own. It’s fun to make and everyone in our house loves playing with it. Thanks @dumbass_yarn ! #quilting #patchwork #infinitycube

Presenting a plump and juicy pillow plucked from the garden! If you followed along in stories, you know I made two. I kept one and I am offering this one on the @soft_haus site! Coming back to work has been a bit odd with a new, tiny person to take care of, so I appreciate you all sticking with me while I work out the lumps and bumps! EZ breezy beautiful! Here’s my finished adult surprise jacket by the late great Elizabeth Zimmerman. I complained about this project a lot - but I often have thorough critiques of others’ patterns, that’s *just me*. All my patterns, on the other hand, are perfect 😅 jk. I just can’t help it because I went to school for this and worked in l’industrie where I and my work were brutally picked apart for years. So yeah, not to shit talk a dead lady but EZ, whoever graded this pattern did you DIRTY. I made the largest size and the neckline is so messed up, so wide (1/4 inch grading convention, never heard of her!!!) it only looks good because I’m a phenomenal knitter and I know it. Redeeming qualities include the cool construction method, all sizes baby to adult come in one pattern, and the yarn I chose. I added my own collar to save this. All in all, I think this pattern is best suited to babies and kids. If I make it again I’d make a lot of modifications. Pattern: school house patterns no. 5, Elizabeth Zimmerman’s surprise jacket for adult, child and baby.
