DUSTING MINT 11: DEBRIS FACILITY & HEN VAUGHAN (visuals) / HEXTAPE (music) for our september menu, dusting mint lays at the altar of debris facility & hen vaughan's collaborative work 'art:if:acts' exploring bone music zamisdat, on friday eve accompanied by hextape/bridget chappell's fractured electroniques in thee shoppe. 'art:if:acts' is predicated upon a mis-recognition of both radiographic & audible records, embracing technological slippages to affirm another kind of de-medicalised infrastructure. illegal lathe-cut bootleg x-ray records vs reconstructive muck in medical imaging, ausculation of plastic embodiment, streaks + scatters as speculative pathways for imagining the body otherwise. fittingly, hextape's set plays upon the notion of mri machine interior as rave, its half-remembered hulking rhythms chewed up & replicated in post-zonked state. the siren song of the hospital sung both inward (to your ear) & outward (to thee raver). this friday eve. opening @ 6, music @ 6.30ish.
