GIRAF SELECTIONS: INDIE MIXTAPE SIDE A
The Indie Animation Mixtape is where we share an assortment of short films from around the globe, showcasing the incredible diversity of animation. And what better way to kick off our annual exploration of international animation than with an intimate, poetic portrait of a black hole from our featured artist, Renee Zhan? If that doesn’t pull you into the festival, nothing will.

From there, Yoriko Mizushiri explores tactility and sensuality with scotch tape and snakes; Yujie Xu taps into the unconscious with intricate sand arrangements, and Qing Sheng Ang shows the complex social structures that appear at a crosswalk. Touching on the philosophical and the practical, the subliminal and the sublime, it’s all here in the Indie Animation Mixtape.

Featuring films from @ummmrenee, @eijuyx, Bhopal, @mikaigeronimo, @joshocaoimh, @aqueousstudio, @yorik0 and @softgoats.

Head to https://giraffest.ca or visit the linktree in our bio to see the full festival lineup!

HI EVERYONE, I have not posted on here in...a while 😳 BUT I’ve been a part of some amazing projects recently and I’d like to share them here now!

This film is “3:45 PM” by Alisha Liu, and I did music and sound design. It also has a fancy Vimeo Staff Pick and won the Vimeo award at this year’s CalArts Producers’ Show. It really is such a gorgeous film so check it out if you’d like...(link in bio)
