Being able to turn an old neglected cottage into our dream life size dollhouse is an experience I don’t think we’ll ever quite top.

Uneven floors, settling walls, drafty old windows, & never ending unfinished projects included- this wee little house is and will always be my pride and joy 🤍

We’re past the halfway point in 2026, and I felt like I had nothing to show for it, until I spent like four hours making these edits.

…yet I still don’t super feel like I have a single 10000000% finished project from this year so far… that’s my bad

⛓️THE GROMMET QUILT⛓️

Embarrassingly l planned this piece in COLLEGE (9 years ago) and even bought the materials.. and proceeded to move them through 2 countries, 2 states and 7 houses 😅

Thankfully my idea played out just as nice as it has in my head for the last decade:) I love her. I want to make furniture and pillows and bags and everything with her.

Will try to not take another decade to make the actual full size quilt!!! For now I gotta finish the bullet bra corset 🫡

Lessons from February ❄️🌱☕️⛅️🧺

1. There is beauty to be found even in something that is wilting.

2. Making major changes to your hair is a lesson in letting go & encouraging yourself to explore, besides it’ll all grow back one day.

3. Sometimes the seasons of nature & life change sooner than you had anticipated. You cannot make the snowdrops stop growing in February, so you might as well tend to them.

4. Get to things, when you get to things. Do not go into the canyon to frolic in the snow & then spend the entire time convincing yourself your car will be stuck & you will be stranded. There is no value in assuming the worst when you’re in the midst of something good. Besides, shovels exist for a reason.

5. If you finish a project or reach a goal & don’t feel that gratitude or joy, it probably means you’re moving too fast.

6. You should always stand still enough to watch snowflakes collect on a branch, noticing is a gift you cannot get back.

Oh to find joy in the mundane☕️🌲❄️🪵

Lately it has seemed like my body has been made of warm cups of tea, dim candlelight in the early mornings, & the smell of the fleeting falling snow. And I know that most people hate January with its lack of festivities and grey skies and bitter cold days, but I must admit that this month is one of my very favorites.

The silence engulfs us after the holidays, after all the chaos and the expending of extra energy to do one million things. It feels unfamiliar at first because it is in our nature now to squeeze as many things as we possibly can into a single second, in the name of productivity or not wasting time. But then there is January, with her solid arms held open & her breathing slowed. She wonders if you will sit with her for a moment, if you have the time to reflect, if you would like to take some time to convalesce.

She is wondering if we will notice the soft purple skies during these winter mornings, or if you will hear the chatter of birds in the oak tree on that one sunny day, or if you will stop to crunch the ice under your boots for a bit of childlike joy. January expects absolutely nothing from us, except the hope that we will do what all other beings do this time of year and just simply, slow down.
