The art of @softmio is golden delicious! 🍎💛 Wares: Apples Roxanne M. Pena (she/they) is a Mexican-American storyboard artist and 2D animator from Socal. She enjoys creating stories that range from cute critters to eldritch horrors. She specializes in storyboarding emotional and action-packed scenes. If it isn’t weird, she ain’t cooking! Additionally, Animal symbolism is a recurring theme in her work because she believes in leveraging the existing cultural context of animals to enrich her narratives. When she’s not drawing, she’s reading manga, goofing around with her friends, swimming, and listening to music! The harvest is not over! Stay tuned to see which artist we pick next! 🍒🍋🫐

I am absolutely in love with everything once again. Also I know they spoiled me a bit with some extra stickers. I was crying a bit with joy, because I got Princess Knight and Atom Cat who I missed out on previously. Happy Michi Monday (special edition)!!! Today we are pleased to share with you the official flyer for SIPS for 2024-2025! In keeping with the spirit of the club, all of the illustration here is made in collaboration with multiple artists: Roxy @softmio, Jennifer @starflaffy, Lili @lilmangosketches, Tommy @artghouul, and Hyugo @hyugosketch - featuring Ari @rabbit.print as the Creator of Michi! - If you are wondering what SIPS is, it stands for: Student Illustration Production Squad! Consider this club as your production collective, social hub, and useful resource for anything illustration-related! We have events and workshops, like fairs, art sales, and guest talks, that could help you either get your foot into the creative industry or make your own mark in your own profession! We even have a strong and growing community of artists from different majors, disciplinaries, skill levels, and backgrounds sharing their passions and interests with each other! SIPS is a safe place for everyone! And... did you know we produce collective zines, stickers, and various merch? Once every semester our club will choose a certain merch and theme they would like to make, and by the end of the semester we produce them! And of course, contributors will get their own copy! So if any of these piques your interests and tickles your noggin, check us out at our weekly general meetings every Fridays from 1 PM - 2 PM at LA5-152 or on our Discord channel (link in bio)! - We would like to thank those who have joined us this semester and all who have been with us throughout our club history since 2022 (the Discord days)! And we hope you'll join us for more fun this semester! We have a lot planned for you in the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned! Top heading: "Let Out Your Passions!" Below it, a spilled cup alongside spilled ink. Inside the spilled ink lies multiple dimensions of creativity, chaos, and... cats. So many cats. Stepping out of the ink, leaving footprints to pawprints, is a shape shifting black cat named Michi. Bubble text: "oops :3" On the right side of the illustration: "Why Join? Gain production experience! Get feedbacks on your art! Make new friends and memories!! Be part of an ever-growing art squad!!!" Below the illustration, another header: "Join SIPS Today!" Below the header, a description/general information: "Student Illustration Production Squad. Meetings Every Fridays at 1:00 PM. Location: Liberal Arts 5 - Room 152 (LA5-152). Artists of all levels welcome! (Instagram logo and TikTok logo) @sips.michi. (Cara logo) @sipsmichi. For inquiries, email sips.csulb@gmail.com." To the right of the description, a QR code leading to the SIPS Discord server.

more artfights!! some cropped pretty cringe (and have been crunched horrifically) cuz instagram but It is how it is. we're in the home stretch now (with the extension and all)... im going to try get some revenges out but alas it will probably have to be a repeat for next year in that ill revenge some ppl i didnt have the time to this year. all character owners are tagged this time, yippee! it has been pretty fun, i feel its been a nice exercise in trying to come up with compositions quickly (well, quicker than my usual)... especially for characters im not too familiar with! i am starting to miss my blorbos a little though. hehe #illustration #artfight #artfight2024 #af2024 #teamseafoam
