Friday releaseday. After 15 studio sessions, 1,237 times listening to the same loop, 52 phone calls, 223 recording takes, 14 different ideas, 73 conversations, 2 record labels and 15 lunches together, we managed to finish an EP. We’re both very proud of this one. As of today, Drift is out in the world: a collaboration between our labels SoHaSo and VIAVIA Records. Here’s us playing b2b, because after all that time together we somehow forgot to take a single photo, so this will have to do for the algomonster haha.

Big thanks to @humanspacemachine_ for the bomb of a remix, and everyone else for supporting and buying it 🙏🏼

#PLAYINGFAVOURITES I love diving into my own collection, rediscovering hidden gems, along with some recent music finds. Every now and then, I’ll share some of my favorites, past, present, and future. These are records and tracks I’ve fallen in love with and remain deeply connected to.

1. Natural Rhythm - Eclectic Dub (Earthtones) 1998 This one is dear to me. That recurring “wroahhh” :)) It sits in your head, carried by this forward-rolling groove. It could go on forever. Talk about timeless.

2. Seiji - Question It (Bitasweet) 2000 Lately i’ve been diving back into some older UK broken beat. This one has stood the test of time without a doubt. Lush × 1000. Stop. Stop wonder why.

3. Stewart Walker - CSF (Recept Remix) (Tektile) 2000 I’ve always loved the B2 of this release by Merrick Brown under his Recept alias. Although it’s only 4.5 minutes long, it feels like it could go on for much longer. The whole spacey vibe, while still being energetically forward-driven, is just perfect.

4. G. Markus - Dreemscape ‘93 (OOSSHA) 2019 One from the SoHaSo catalogue, on the OOSSHA sublabel, that I think still gets overlooked far too often :) Every time I play it, people ask about it. Ben Gomori under his G. Markus alias. It feels timeless, with its distinctive vocal sample taken from Dreamscape’s 1993 New Year’s Eve party and its contagious groove. Also worth checking out are the lovely remixes by Roger Gerressen and queniv.
