We thought a birthday photoshoot would be a fun way to kick off our celebration! We might decide to take the armatures out later but we’ve been working on something special and we wanted to give you something to hold you while we finish editing our short film and setting up our store. We have a lot going on behind the scenes! It’s our Anniversary month and this year will mark our third year of Black Toy Adventure (formerly A Black Toy Story)! We’re so glad to have you join us for the fun!

We’ll be back with more shortly! We want to know what you would like to see more of in the year to come. Let us know in the comments!

It’s the remix!!! Happy New Year!

New year, new name! Welcome to Black Toy Adventure!

This is a clip from the first animated short we created less than a year ago. Since that time we've created a whole collection of scenes. We’re still learning as we go but we’ve had some significant moments of growth this past year. This past summer we were excited to create a stop motion music video for @hellounclejumbo for his song, Hit’em With The Joy from his Grammy-nominated children’s music album, Taste The Sky, our first commission! And we loved our collaboration with @byrdsnestbox to promote her watermelon and hot pepper harvests. It’s not often we create outside of our home studio and the Byrd’s Nest Box was a dreamy experience. And! We have a store coming soon! We’ll be selling print products highlighting scenes from some of our favorite adventures.

We’ve come a long way in less than two years and we hope you will join us as we take new turns in this unique exploration of black toys and storytelling. It started as a series of stories that has morphed into a whole adventure. Follow for more @black.toyadvntr !

🎉🎶 **Thank You for Making FÊTE 30! Gala a Remarkable Success!** 🎉🎶

The East of the River Steelband extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us in celebrating three decades of musical excellence at the Fête 30! Gala. Your presence and support made this night truly special.

From mesmerizing student performances to heartfelt tributes to our visionaries, every moment celebrated the power of music to transform lives. We’d like to appreciate our award recipients, His Excellency Anthony W.J. Phillips-Spencer, Reggie Van Lee, Roger Greenidge, and Matthew Shannon, Esq, for their unwavering commitment to our community.

A special shout-out to the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy for presenting EOTRS with a generous grant of $2000, enabling us to continue nurturing young talents and enriching our community through music.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to our guest musical performer, Wes Felton, whose talent added an extraordinary dimension to our celebration. We are grateful for your contribution.

Furthermore, we want to recognize the dedicated EOTRS staff, whose tireless efforts made this event a resounding success. Your passion and hard work are the driving force behind our mission.

A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Linda Fisher for her unwavering support and dedication to our cause. Your belief in our work inspires us to reach greater heights.

We’d also like to express our gratitude to MSNBC contributor, Jason Johnson for kindly being our host for the evening.

The Fête 30! Gala allowed us to reflect on our past and look forward to the future. We’re excited about our new single created through a songwriting workshop with R&B star Raheem De Vaughn and the continued growth of our musical family.

Thanks to our volunteers, sponsors, and donors, this event was possible. Your generosity supports our educational initiatives, ensuring we can inspire future musicians and enrich our community through the universal language of music.

As we wrap up this extraordinary celebration, relive the memories and share your moments with us on social media using #Fete30Gala. Your photos and stories will help us cherish this night for years to come.
