026 : ZWISCHEN BÄUMEN

brings together 60 artists across three centuries of painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.

Few motifs have accompanied art history as persistently as the forest. It has shifted from a setting for biblical and mythological narratives to a Romantic space of longing, spirituality and the sublime, and later a subject through which artists explored light, atmosphere and perception. Zwischen Bäumen brings these moments into conversation, allowing historical and contemporary works to meet across generations.

Villa Schöningen is embedded within Potsdam’s historic park and lake landscape, shaped in the nineteenth century by Peter Joseph Lenné and Gustav Meyer. Nature here is both grown and composed. As the landscape outside moves from late summer through autumn and winter into spring, the works inside enter into quiet dialogue with the seasons.

Zwischen Bäumen offers no fixed thesis. Instead, it creates a space to slow down, to look and to be moved, returning to beauty, reflection and imagination, and to the simple pleasure of looking.

Over its seven-month duration, the exhibition extends through readings and classical music performances. Romanticism, so influential in shaping our image of the forest, found some of its most powerful expressions in art, literature and music, bringing these traditions together within the landscape of the Villa.

Ultimately, Zwischen Bäumen returns to a simple experience: standing among the trees. Between art and landscape, history and the present, the cultivated and the wild, the exhibition invites us simply to look.

Details of the works and installation views available on the www.passage.art

--

In the exhibition "Zwischen Bäumen", summer follows spring. 🌳

Here, too, we see through the juxtaposition of centuries that few motifs have had as much influence on art history as the forest. His meaning changed with the social ideas of his time.

In the early modern art, it appears as a setting for biblical and mythological stories. Since the 19th century, century, he was perceived as a work of art in its own right – in the German-speaking world closely associated with the growing national myth, industrialisation, rural exodus and the increasing alienation from nature. 🍃

Acquired Sol Kordich through OLIVER ARTLAB*, arriving soon from Berlin.

Meet, Sol Kordich.

Born in Buenos Aires in 1995, based in Berlin. Trained as an architect, Kordich builds her paintings the way you’d build a space: countless thin, translucent glazes layered until color and gesture accumulate into dense, luminous territory. Buried in the layers are fragments of poetry, notation and mystical symbolism, held in the tension between what surfaces and what stays concealed.

Represented by Mariane Ibrahim, she has shown across Chicago, Berlin, Madrid, Munich, Milan, Los Angeles, New York, Panama City, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Barcelona and Miami. Her solo Coming Back to the One opened at Mariane Ibrahim, Chicago, with recent group shows at Nicodim in New York, Megan Mulrooney in Los Angeles, and Mariane Ibrahim at Art Basel Paris. Her work is already held in the Rachofsky and Green Family Collections in Dallas, Marquez Art Projects in Miami, and the ARNDT Collection in Munich.

OLIVER ARTLAB* is our private 1:1 service for collectors seeking a global perspective and unique access to collectable contemporary artworks.

By private appointment.

OPENING JUNE 26: 𝘌𝘙𝘖𝘛𝘐𝘊 𝘛𝘌𝘙𝘙𝘈𝘐𝘕𝘚

Sol Kordich, featured in the group show, approaches painting as an inquiry of the unknown, an exercise that uses the layering of colors and cadences strokes to conceal a new reality. Fragments of poetry, notation, mythological and mystical symbolism influence the work, revealing the tension between what is visible and what remains confined.

Please join us for the opening reception on June 26 from 6 - 9 pm. Email info@wienholtprojects.com to confirm your RSVP.

OPENING FRIDAY, JUNE 26th 6 - 9 pm

Wienholt Projects is proud to announce 𝘌𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴, the inaugural group exhibition celebrating our brick & mortar location at The Loved One in Echo Park. The show will be on view from June 26 - July 24, 2026.

𝘌𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 assembles an almost entirely LA-based group of artists working through themes of liminality and the otherworldly. Working in painting, photography, sculpture, collage, and mixed-media, each artist abstracts and reconfigures landscape and the figure, infusing familiar environments with turbulent emotion.

NY! 𝑬𝑴𝑰𝑳𝒀 𝑭𝑬𝑹𝑮𝑼𝑺𝑶𝑵 / 𝑻𝑶𝑴𝑨𝑺 𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑲𝑬𝑹 / 𝑺𝑶𝑳 𝑲𝑶𝑹𝑫𝑰𝑪𝑯 CLOSES TOMORROW, MAY 2!!

Sol Kordich approaches painting through abstraction, emphasizing movement, color, and the physical act of making. Her canvases build through layered gesture and shifting forms, creating a surface that feels immersive and alive with motion.

Across these distinct approaches, painting becomes a place where interior states and external images continually blur our encounters with perception.
