Comfy casual in elevated basics. Also love this look with ballet flats and a sweater over the shoulders.

The tee runs a little small. I sized up to a medium. Pants are mostly TTS, depending on how you care for them. I’m a 0/2 and got an XS, which fit perfectly until my husband washed them. Wish I’d sized up. Shoes, size up ½ size in both the regular and the backless mule version. My necklace is from TJ Maxx, but I linked a very similar affordable option.

Told myself I’d wear a different blue shirt today & kept coming back to this one. It’s the perfect button down that feels like a lightweight t-shirt but looks put together. I reach for it weekly! Not pictured: the posture correcting bra that hides well under a button down 🙌🏻 Jeans are on sale for $119 and well stocked in sizes in this wash & black. They’re a slightly rigid denim, high waisted, & straight leg.

I cried at the end just like I thought I would. 😭

I ran my first 13.1 miles, aka my first half-marathon distance, completely on my own.

I started off strong, but then the wind got to me. The candy got to me. The lack of water I was carrying got to me. My big toes rubbing against the inside of my shoes got to me. And eventually, the distance I still had left got to me, even after I knew I was going to finish.

I knew this was going to be tough, especially doing it alone. @CoachBennett can only keep me encouraged for so long. 😂

At one point during the run, he started talking about what was actually motivating you. And it made me think about what was actually motivating me.

Honestly? Knowing that I could complete a half marathon.

It didn’t have to be fast. It didn’t have to look impressive. It just had to happen.

This was my first time going this far, so no matter what, it was going to be my fastest half marathon. And somewhere between the wind, the walking, the candy, the questionable fueling strategy and the church music playing in my headphones, I kept going.

I went out planning to run 11–12 miles.

Then I realized I was getting really close to a massive milestone and decided to just see what happened.

I walked A LOT more than I planned. I struggled. I cried. And I finished.

That’s kind of the whole point.

Less than three weeks until I run my first actual half marathon at Nike After Dark LA. 🌙🏃‍♀️
