📸 CONTROL Opening by @jonbakerpeople

——

The exhibition brings together fifteen artists working across painting, video, sculpture, simulation and game environments to explore how the visual language of video games has entered contemporary art. Looking to avatars, NPCs, portals, glitches, rendered landscapes and the aesthetics of 80s, 90s and 00s gaming, the exhibition considers agency, artificial life, emotional distance and the illusion of control.

Taking inspiration from the story The Aquarium by Daisy Hildyard, the exhibition is created around the mutation of bodies to survive changing ecosystems through fictitious time and space. With all those systems morphing into each other, diluting the boundaries between bodies and surroundings, present and past, fiction and reality flow into each other creating a rippling effect within the works.

Shrimp’s Eye View aims to decentralize the focus from the human perspective, delving instead into seeing things through an abstracted filter - like the glint of a shrimp’s eye catching light in dark water.

LAST DAY ✨ to see FEEDING THE FOLDS open @plop.residency
at The Bomb Factory Art Foundation (Holborn) open till Saturday (31st) 12-6pm

Art Therapy’s @ryanlanji stepped inside the process — visiting Marc‑Aurèle Debut during the install and Solanne Bernard at the private view to capture the work unfolding, behind the scenes.

Developed as a duo during their residency at Plop, Bernard and Debut begin a shared body of work that brings their individual practices into dialogue with newly formed collaborative pieces.

Their research centres the changing room as a site of transformation — where objects mutate into bodies, bodies negotiate materials, and moments of exposure and transition are laid bare. A space where the body exists in its most raw and vulnerable state.

Feeding the Folds is an ode to fluidity and hybridity as resistance — where eroticising our surroundings deepens our connection to the world, where bodies remain in flux, and objects are allowed to grow a beating heart.

THE FIRST PLOP RESIDENCY OF 2026: @marcaureledebut + @solannebernard

Solanne and Marc-Aurèle will collaborate this month at Plop as a duo, developing the beginnings of a larger shared body of work that brings individual practices into dialoque with newly created collaborative pieces.

Their research centers on the idea of the changing room as a site of transformation, mutation, and intimacy - a space where the body exists in its most raw and vulnerable state.
During the residency, much of the work will unfold in the space between body and object, exploring moments of exposure, transition, and material negotiation.

Open Studios @plop.residency
Wednesday 28 January 6-8PM
@thebombfactoryartfoundation 5th Floor, 103 Kingsway, Holborn, London
