; and now I see the finish line 🏁

________________________________________

This week got me feeling all types of old.

The “Coloring Book” is up there as one of my favourite mixtapes, and can’t believe Chance the Rapper is already on a 10 year anniversary tour for it.

This week was officially the end of formal lessons of Year12, and now we’re at the homestretch to the finish line.

Just like the Nike LDWaffle x Sacai x Clot, this final term had a lot going on, but in the end it all worked out. 😌

This week we were tasked to wear a “splash of yellow” in support of ‘R U OK? Day.’ Remember it doesn’t happen just once a year, be sure to always check in on your mates!

Honestly I was saving the fit for a little later to commemorate something else, but when the homie says we’re pulling up in the matching shirts you run with it.

This time last year was finalising tickets to see the GOAT. Shout out to John Cena, a massive advocate for mental health and pushing for the best version of yourself 🫡

An interesting pair in the lore of the OG Jumpman signature series. The Jordan IXs are most known for three key things:
1. The warm up scene for the Tune Squad in Space Jam (1996)
2. Jordan’s baseball career (1994-1995)
3. 2Pac’s “Thug Life” era photoshoot (1993)

30 years ago this week we had the untimely murder of - a voice of a generation, a man who lived and died LA, and humanitarian in, Tupac Shakur. 30 years later this week, justice was served in finally sentencing his murderer.

An eventful week in history to say the least - add in Yr11 marking after trial HSC marking 😮‍💨

Celebrated Book Week this week honouring “Naruto,” the 5th highest selling manga of all-time!

Normally schools celebrate Book week by dressing up as famous characters, so this was my attempt at “cosplaying” one of the most iconic dark foil characters in Sasuke - well if he was steezed out.

The Converse x Naruto Shippuden pack was so clean with the details from the anime, but the “Sasuke” pair was easily the best for me.

Stay reading kids (a lot of you need to, and it shows)✌️

There’s one event every teacher that hoops looks forward to every year, and that’s the Staff vs Student basketball game. For me, it’s one more lesson I can teach them boys.

This year, that game happened to fall on my men’s local comp grand finals and so to get two dubs on the same day, I’m feeling myself a little this week.

Brought out some championship vibes for this week! Shoutout to the OGs who recognise the audio for this week too 🐰

; hip-hop hooray! 🥳🎤

________________________________________

This week saw two significant moments in Hip-Hop history.

August 11, 1973 in South Bronx, NYC, DJ Kool Herc birthed the very concept that is hip-hop with a turntable, an MC, and breakdancing

Fast forward 40 years later and on August 12, 2013, Kendrick Lamar features on Big Sean’s “Control” and put the hip-hop scene on notice.

I’ve said it before, but hip-hop was, and still is, a big reason why I became an English lit teacher 🔥

Full circle moment.

Had the OG "Orlando" Penny 1s back in '95, watched Lil' Penny run wild on my TV, laced 'em up on the blacktop like I was Hardaway himself. Now the 2022 retro is on feet — same colourway, same feeling, just a different decade.

My 15 year old self wouldn't have thought I'd be rocking these on the verge of turning 45.

Some pairs aren't just sneakers, they're time machines. 👟⏳

; there’s a million things I haven’t done, just you wait! ⭐️

…says every teacher, especially around this time of year with all that extra marking!

11 years ago, August 6 2015, “Hamilton” officially debuts on Broadway, and 1 year from “Hamilten” at the Tony Awards. So this week wanted to shoutout one of the greatest musicals ever. Legit play the soundtrack at least once a year.

All the best to Year 12 currently sitting their Trial HSC exams, remember to not “throw away your shot” as part of another defining moment in your final year. First thing you all definitely need to do is make sure the handwriting is not complete trash.

Ok fine, I’ll watch go “Hamilton” again 🤷‍♂️

Normally I’m an SB guy… but today I had to break out these bad boys. 🔥👟

2017 Tinker 3s — still looking absolutely 🔥 after all these years. Some kicks just deserve their day out.

What are you rocking today? 👀

; ray of sunshine ☀️

________________________________________

And we back! Returning from school holidays can usually be tough, so decided to bring some bright, sunshine vibes on the gloomy return.

It’s especially hard when you go from being in slides and pyjamas all day, so figured I’d ease back into work with something close to it.

Staying comfy now, because Yr11 and 12 teachers know how bad Term 3 is for marking. 🫩
