One of my favorite nights: dinner before the summit! We co-hosted an amazing dinner this week with @dreamstreetworld the advisory firm.

Thank you @chad.blackwell, @brandonmarqs, @jaelen_coney, and Anitra MacVeety for making this happen. And thank you to everyone who joined us.

Short version of the story . @yanchanproduced & I meet at @thejunoawards . Find out we’re both South Indian I’m #Telugu he’s #Tamil immediately bond over the culture and all the things by see have in common .

Fast forward : we find ourselves in a studio playing our instruments catching vibes & finding a pocket . We live in it and out of it comes a project called @itstelamil . It’s out now first single is called Kalupu the Telugu verb for “to mix” & that’s exactly what we did .

Take some time take it in & know it came from the realist place . I mean what else is gonna happen when you get 2 Toronto mans together for a cook up :)

One of the greatest things about this project @itstelamil is that it facilitates some really great collaborations . We left room on our first single Kalupu for a verse, and we couldn’t have found a better collaborator. The brother @bijaanl killed it ! If you haven’t heard it yet take it in.

Also look out for more future Collabs soon come .

This is my mama, she is singing an old spiritual that she taught us when we were kids. It’s being sung in our mother tongue #telugu . Music’s always played a major role in our house . It was the source of joy, worship & healing . You would hear it all the time . I remember my parents used to leave the intercom on at night in their room so they could hear my songs on the radio :). Now with her going through Alzheimer’s it plays a beautiful role . It somehow transports her to the past and present at the same time . So thankful that she taught us these gems . Never thought they would be the best medicine :).

This is what we wanted to capture on this project the celebration & healing .

Uncomfortable doing this (hate the sound of my speaking voice) but here it goes. My whole life was built on South Indian more specifically Telugu culture. My home was always full of the sound of classical and old film music . My uncles & aunties were always over singing songs, making jokes, cooking food & drinking chai :) The captain of the ship was my Dad & of course my mama who was right there behind him showing support.
I must confess that my younger self took it all for granted . In my mind those moments would be there forever & I could always come back to them . So I went about my own journey. Well they weren’t , once we lost my father unexpectedly those moments ceased to exist . Since then I’ve been playing catch up, watching old videos, listening to old recordings asking mom questions about dad .

I thought it was important to share this with you guys , so you know the intentions behind this new project @itstelamil that I’ve created with the brother @yanchanproduced . As we slowly role out the project song by song I wanted you to know this is bigger than streams & follows. It’s about legacy & paying tribute to where we’re both from.

Hope you guys take it in and catch vibes with us . I know Dad would be proud give us a follow, would be an honor to share our story

Say Love ❤️ 🙏🏽

In the middle of finishing a special project with my brother @yanchanproduced… we took a break and just started playing.

No plan. No pressure. Just music.

Sometimes the best ideas happen like this.
Not sure if this becomes a song or just stays a moment in time.

What do you hear ?

RIP to Donald K. Tarlton — a legend on so many levels. As a co-founder of Last Gang alongside Chris Taylor (@solicitorct), he truly embodied the 𝓤𝓼 𝓐𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓼𝓽 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓵𝓭 spirit that we continue to hold high to this day. ⛓️💚

Last year March of 2025 when the @thejunoawards were held in Vancouver, I was invited to a South Asian writing camp put on by @jashimaw of @_odeto_ & @keepclarity in partnership with the support @amazonmusiccan @amazonmusic .
I’m actually not the biggest fan of these writing camps but this was different. It’s always been a career long goal of mine to make a contribution to the South Asian music space but on my own musical terms. I’ve never been one for following the trends or being a “copy cat” producer. So this was a perfect scenario for me, they put me in a room with two artist who shared the same vision as I did . We @ramyapothuri & @joshsahunta had a lengthy conversation about always being the ones who never fit in :) through a lot of laughs and mutual admiration, SUBSIDE came to life & now it’s yours exclusively on the Amazon Platform. Peace to all the people who came together to make this happen especially Jashima, KC , @its.asmi & apologies for anyone I left out . New friendships were made in a safe and open space that you guys facilitated.

Respect to all the South Asian artist who are out there putting their focus on great art & not trying to fit into a mold . The world is totally yours.

Thank you again to all the people at @amazonmusic . I came from a world where there was no space for Indian artist to be seen or heard & now the world is listening and seeing what we have on our hearts & minds . Bless up & keep pushing this mandate forward .

This record was a labour of love. Late nights, strange sounds the woods had likely never heard, some questionable decisions, and the general feeling of being isolated on a secret tiny sovereign nation somewhere north of the border without any genre’s or labels chasing us down (although label money would’ve been nice. Until after).

A few sleep-deprived musicians.
Natural resources: epic food, fine wine, and an irresponsible amount of vintage synths.

And just like that, it turned into an album. We just wanted it out in the world, and now it is! Thanks to everyone who was there for us and wasn’t there and who will be there one day. OH and there’s a new track on here called CVCHE or the Highway that’s fun. The whole thing was fun to make, so please make it fun for you, too. Put on your favorite socks, find a waxed floor, and dance! (Disclaimer: waxed floors are hazardous. Please wear a helmet.)

We are CVCHE. Please Enjoy ⚡️
