Recently, I was honored to be featured in the newsletter of an organization I hold very dear to my heart: @solidnashville .

When I first moved to Nashville and was just beginning to build my career, I asked several mentors the same question: Where do I start?

Almost unanimously, they pointed me toward SOLID.

SOLID stands for the Society of Leaders in Development, a nonprofit created to identify, connect, and cultivate the next generation of music industry leaders. And looking back, it’s hard to overstate the impact it had on me.

Through SOLID, I met some of my closest friends in the music business—people I grew up alongside professionally, many of whom I still work with today.

What’s even more remarkable is looking around Nashville now and seeing where so many SOLID alumni have ended up. They’re leading companies, building businesses, signing artists and songwriters, making deals, creating opportunities, and helping shape what the Nashville music community looks like today.

For me, that’s what makes being recognized by SOLID especially meaningful. It’s an organization that gave me a community when I was still trying to find my place in this business.

I’m incredibly grateful for that chapter of my career—and even more excited about the next generation of leaders coming through SOLID now.

Thank you for the recognition. I’m proud to be part of this family.

My fav thing about music is that shows are a wonderful excuse to hang out with your friends that you can’t usually hang out with because everyone’s too tired and too busy. Come out and watch me watch my friends and then maybe also watch me do a stripped down set.

Reflecting on an incredible evening last night at the Bluebird. These 4 wonderful humans gave us quite the show and, as expected, really blew everyone away with their talent! I can’t express how thankful I am to them and everyone who helped bring this show together! It was a very special moment for me on a personal level and our organization @solidnashville as a whole. @bmi
