”Time is perceived differently when you’re in a festival” I have written on my notes this March, from Marcin Poprawski’s lecture - ” because festival is a multi-temporal phenomenon”. And these words came back to me now because while I am trying to unwrap my @rototomsunsplash experience into a logical timeline, even trying to advance day-by-day with my camera roll, it somehow proves to be impossible. I was coordinating some artist interviews also for the next day, so there were many layers of timelines going on for me all the time. And then - good live music always stops the time for me, for a moment. Even if it is a couple of minutes of music. It’s like the music can carry us through the time and space, or outside of time and space. That’s what I have been thinking of every time I’ve gone back to @jessegdrumming drumming circles in Kingston. Sometimes in reality it was a long time in between but in drumming, it was as if it was just yesterday. In Rototom, I had the chance to meet briefly Jesse’s father @stevegolding.rhythm who was playing with Roots Radics backing The Itals and Israel Vibration. And in this magical festival time & space, there were also so many more wonderful artists, moments, smiles, interviews…

overflowing with gratitude for the family and friends who opened their homes to us this month 🤍 our sabbatical of rest and healing is only possible because of the generosity and kindness of incredible people we are so lucky to love and be loved by. pics featuring the many places we were able to stay, from country yurt to city flat to cozy farmhouse and more.

cheers august, you were good to us.
