1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

A couple of words catch my attention here in this verse. Prepared, made ready, made fit, suitable, ready. Do you realize God has made things fit, suitable, and ready for those that love Him? Too many times, we act as if these are things waiting on us in the hereafter, but Paul declares they are prepared for them that love Him.
Here is a question for you. Do you love Him? Are you a believer? Are you a born again, blood bought believer? Are you a born again, blood bought, spirit filled believer? If so, then why should we have to wait until the hereafter to find out what those things are?
Jerimiah 29:11 says He has good plans for you. Psalms 31:19 says He has great goodness laid up for those who fear Him. Isaiah 40:29 says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” In Isaiah 40:31 it talks of renewed strength and wings like an eagle. The ability to rise above a situation is already prepared for you. Here is one more for you, though the list could go on. Romans 9:23, says “And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory.”
Oh, the riches of His glory He has waiting for those that love Him! I will let your mind continue the journey. It is true, eyehath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart/mind of man, just how powerful the things are that God has made ready, fit, and suitable for the believer who really trusts Him. What is it you need prepared for you this week? God’s got it.
Our prayer for you this week: May you experience the things God has prepared for those that love Him.

Proverbs 12:25
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

It’s amazing how life happens. One moment you are on cloud nine, the next you are in the cellar. Struggles are real, and often times they completely shatter, break, splinter, or fragment your dreams. In one single instance everything can change. One word, report, conversation, or statement can change your mindset.

Now, your mindset, outlook, concepts, and visions take on a whole different look. What looked so attainable, doable, reachable, and believable no longer seems achievable, or even perceivable. It is no wonder the scripture said in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Your mindset really does matter. Norman Vincent Peale said, “A peaceful mind generates power.” This is so true. Even though life has happened, you have to change your heart/mindset. “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” Just one word can change your posture in life.
To change your posture you must change your conversation. Ephesians 4:22-24 gives us some incredible insight. “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
Yes, changing your conversation can take you from stooping to standing. Is it any wonder the word of God taught us how to change our conversation and bring power and peace to our heart? Romans 4:17 declares God Himself calleth those things which be not as though they were. So, this week take a load off your heart/mind, bring peace and power into your spiritual processor. Call those things that are not as though they are.

Our prayer for you this week: May you learn how to go from stooping to standing.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.

To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice -Proverbs 21:2–3 ✝️

We are all capable of justifying our actions. We convince ourselves that our intentions are good, our decisions are right, and our hearts are in the right place, but God sees beyond our explanations. He sees our motives, our character, and the truth behind our actions. Faith isn’t measured by what we proclaim, but by how we live. It’s not enough to speak of righteousness while refusing to practice it. It’s not enough to profess faith while ignoring justice, compassion, and integrity. Before we question the hearts of others, perhaps we should first examine our own. God is not impressed by appearances. He knows what is real in our hearts.

The beauty of Proverbs 21:2–3 is that it doesn’t just challenge the people we disagree with, It challenges us. This is what makes Scripture so powerful. Sometimes we’re holding it up like a sword when we should be looking into it like a mirror.

Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

The ancient Hebrew word for heart is “Labe”, meaning your will, intellect, knowledge, or rational thought. A merry, joyful, gleeful understanding makes one’s countenance cheerful. Your mindset really does affect your physical expression, from the way you carry yourself to the way you think or speak. Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.
There really is power in perception. The Word declares in the closing of Jeremiah 29:11 that God will bring us to an expected end. We should always begin with the end in mind. Might I ask, what is your expected outcome of the day, situation, or conditionyou are in?
Recently, I was crunching some numbers involving fixing a piece of equipment our church owns. In the course of conversation, I was feeling the pressure of the numbers, seeing it was not really what we wanted to spend the money on. The response of the other party was, “How cool is it that there was a day when you would have never thought you would be in theposition to discuss numbers like this, much less write a check for it. ‘Nuff said. It really does matter the condition of your heart, labe, or mindset.
Things really are affected by our intellectual approach. Either God is able to do exceeding abundantly more than we can think, or He is not God at all. None of us can keep life from coming at us. However, we can change the way we view life. Just because you are aging does not mean you lose touch with the age. True enough, you may not jump as high as you used to, but at least you are still getting off the ground. No, you may not be as fast as you used to be, but you are still in the race.
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize the power of a merry heart.

Some of the most valuable people in your life are praying for you when you don’t even know it. They know your struggles, care about your family, and bring your name before God without needing recognition.

Be grateful for those people. And be that person for someone else.

“Pray for one another.” — James 5:16

Proverbs 4:23
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

When I was a kid, there was a man that would come on the radionamed Art Linkletter, who was a lifelong advocate of the book “The Power of Positive Thinking.” Art was famous for saying things many of us have heard like, “Just smiling goes a long way toward making you feel better about life.” Or, how about, “When you feel better about life, your life is better.” I know you can’t just think things away, but a positive mental attitude goes along way in healing situations.
The wise man wrote in Proverbs to keep your “heart”, (“labe”, the Hebrew word for intellect), also known as your mind with all diligence for out of it are the issues/source of life. It is a proven fact your outlook affects your outcome. Why is it that we gravitate toward the negative so quickly? When news comes our way, it seems as if we are prepared to say I knew it and declare the worst result or conclusion possible.
It is just as easy to see the glass half full as it is to see it half empty. If a simple smile can change your day, then what can a declaration of faith do? The NIV translation of Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” If the scripture is true, then it is just as easy to say I am whole, healed, and delivered as it is to say I am defeated, devastated, and beaten. The New American Standard Bible says it this way, “Watch over your heart with all diligence,For from it flow the springs of life.” Norman Vincent Peale said,“The way to happiness: keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much.”
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize the health benefits in a healthy outlook.

“And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” So they went out and preached that people should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.”

Jesus is coming back.

“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” — Matthew 24:44 (esv.org)

I don’t know when that day will be. But I know it should change how I live this one.

Love my wife well. Be present with my kids. Repent quickly. Tell people about Jesus.

Readiness isn’t about earning His love. It’s about trusting Him and living like His return is real.

Are you ready to meet Him?

Matthew 5:1-2
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Most reading these two scriptures are very familiar with this setting of Jesus on the Mount of Beatitudes. He is teaching Hisdisciples what has become known as His first message called the Beatitudes.
This time when reading this account in history, something I had never noticed before jumped off the page at me. Look at the action of Jesus, when He had set, positioned, situated, or settled Himself, the disciples came to Him. There are two things I would like to point out.
1. World changers will never show up until you are set, positioned, situated, or settled, and prepared to succeed.
2. Rarely do you ever see anything good happen by the multitudes.
John 6:66, after Jesus fed the five thousand, said from this time forward not many followed him. Luke records in chapter six, the multitudes came to receive their healing. There is nothing wrong with showing up with a need or with a request for something to be changed. Never should we ever judge anyone for coming to Christ for or with a need.
World changers show up poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. True world changers show up with no presuppositions, notions, or preconceived ideas. They did not show up to debate, argue, or dispute the Master. They showed up to be disciples.
Why are you at the feet of Jesus? Is it simply because you have a need or situation you want fixed so you can carry on a while longer in this world? Or are you at the feet of Jesus to be a world changer?
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize the power of being a world changer and come to know the blessed life.

JESUS SAVED ME.

Not because I cleaned myself up.
Not because I finally got it all right.
Not because I became a better man.

Because of grace.

I brought the sin. He brought forgiveness.
I brought the shame. He brought redemption.
I brought a debt I could never pay. He paid it in full.

The older I get, the less impressed I am with what I can accomplish and the more amazed I am by what Jesus has already done.

I’m not trying to earn His love.

I’m learning to live from it.

Jesus saved me. And that changes everything.
