Big shoutout to Sammy! 🥹🫶💗

She was so willing to jump in and help with the choreo and genuinely went above and beyond for this project.

Projects like this wouldn’t be possible without people like Sammy who are willing to give their time, energy and support to help bring an idea to life. So grateful to have had her as part of DANCE LIVE CHECK YOUR CHEST 💗

From an idea in my head during chemo.. to a room full of incredible people bringing it to life 🥹🎀

DANCE • LIVE • CHECK YOUR CHEST 💗

I created this campaign to use something I love, dance, to start conversations around breast cancer awareness and encourage more people to get to know their bodies and check their chest.

After everything my body has been through over the last year, being back in a studio creating, dancing and working with such an incredible group of people meant more to me than I can really put into words!!

And none of this happens without people believing in an idea and helping make it possible. 🫶🏼

A huge thank you to:

👕 @fifthcolumntshirts for supporting us with our campaign T-shirts
🎀 @thebourystudios for supporting the campaign with their amazing studio!!
🪩 @basedancestudios for supporting us with rehearsal space

And, of course, every single dancer who gave their time, energy and talent to this project. 💗

The wider DANCE • LIVE • CHECK YOUR CHEST project is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. 🎀 @aceagrams

Dance. Live. Check Your Chest.

Because knowing your normal matters. 🎀

DANCE • LIVE • CHECK YOUR CHEST 🎀

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Throughout October, in support of @preventbreastcancer, we’ll be dancing to make a difference.

Raising awareness, encouraging everyone to check their chests, and dancing for a future where breast cancer can be prevented.

Keep your eyes out for what’s coming 👀🎀

Let’s make a change.

Together. 💗

SPLIT

Split explores the invisible tension of being pulled in opposing directions. Caught between expectation, ambition and obligation, the body becomes a space where conflicting forces collide. Through moments of resistance, fragmentation and connection, the work asks what happens when you’re constantly giving pieces of yourself away, and whether it’s possible to find your own direction before there’s nothing left to give.

Thank you so much to @riftstudios.uk to allow me the space to share my ideas! ✨
Thank you @bismark85 for filming and for the constant support, it’s muchly appreciated 🙏🏻

Things I have to remind myself when I freestyle:

1) That I have trained, for years in fact 😂 I *do* know how to dance!
2) To get out of my own head and into my body, and remember listen to / feel the music.
3) It's not about perfection, and I will keep improving with practice.

Anyone else resonate?

@not_herlastdance UNMUTED CHOREO COMPETITION ENTRY

Back in 2022 I created this piece- now it’s time to speak my truth again. This doesn’t define me, in fact it makes me stronger. Women it’s time for us to speak our truth ✊🏼 👑

DECEPTION

What is psychological abuse? It is control, shame, blame, fear, gaslighting. It is emotional manipulation. Statistics show that 80% of people go through emotional abuse but only 40% will report it. I think the reason is obvious; How can you prove it when there are no physical marks to show it?

This piece comes from personal experiences and I’m sure, sadly, it will be relatable for many of you in one way or another. It shows being tied, manipulated, controlled and blinded by the exceptionally calculated mind of a narcissist. I wanted to create this piece to show the pain and trauma this experience brought into my life temporarily, but also the strength and empowerment that finally letting go of it rewarded me with permanently.

My outcome is to spread awareness. This happens to so many of us in such a variety of relationships, and sometimes within very basic interactions, but we feel forced to remain silent due to fear of being ignored, our allegations being challenged or purely being gaslighted. People need to know they will be supported and we all need to do a better job in supporting each other.

Emotional/mental abuse is just as traumatic as domestic abuse. It can break you, just in a different way. I am hoping some of us can speak out and share our stories of our own journeys of healing as well as to inspire others that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Love to you all, Sammy 💜

Thank you to my @solodonneuk dancers @xbethanychanx and @kahera_kahera for bringing my story to life

@solodonneuk

Inspired by the world Bad Bunny @badbunnypr creates, where music becomes a meeting place for culture, rhythm, and identity.

This visual is rooted in the idea of togetherness, different backgrounds, different energies, all coming into one shared space through dance. A celebration of community, expression, and the power of movement to connect us beyond language.

A huge thank you to the creative world behind NUEVAYoL for the inspiration:
@renellmedrano @virginsoil @rimas

This is about more than dance, it’s about people. It’s about culture. It’s about what happens when we stop separating and start moving as one.

One rhythm. Many voices. One community.
