EVS, Shorewood: A retrospective of appreciation and gratitude.

As I look back at the last 28 years of running my independent studio in Shorewood, MN, I wanted to make a little retrospective post of appreciation for the hundreds of voice students who came to EVS for their voice studies over the years.

There is no way I can capture all of the brilliant and talented folks who have passed through my studio doors, but I was able to find a picture from each of the EVS Senior Recitals for the past 20 years, so here is a flashback of gratitude to all of the students and families who entrusted me to join and guide them along their journeys of vocal discovery.

Only one year of the 11 years I taught at Wayzata made it here because the singers wanted to do a recital together. The other years were all handled by an in-house senior recital (and I’m limited to only 20 photos in this post), so please excuse the omission of my WHS singers!

I consider myself extremely blessed, and look forward the new chapter at EVS, Northfield. #gratefulteacher #voicelessons #singingactors #classicalvoice #musicaltheatrevoice

Phew! 😮‍💨 😊 What a fabulous way to culminate a very long but amazing day of singing! After hearing my level 1 jury singers rock their repertoire this morning and my Level 3 performance major sing his personal best this afternoon at St. Olaf, I raced back home for the EVS HS Class of 2026 Senior Recital & Cabaret. These five amazing young vocal artists SANG their songs with passion and skill, and I couldn’t be more proud. We missed you, though @braylonv843 and @maxwell.haugen! What made the night even better?! Six EVS alums attended as well. So good to see you all! #blessed #voiceteacherlife #elsberndvoicestudio #evsclassof2026

These two! 🤩 So fun to hear EVS grads @austinstole and @solomon.beaudry rock their roles as Jesus and Pontius Pilate in SOAR Arts 🎭 concert production of Jesus Christ Superstar on a beautiful September afternoon in St. Michael. Congrats to you both for your fantastic singing, and to maestro @beaudryterrell and the entire cast and crew on a fine production!
