RJ, @rjmitte when I heard the news, my stomach dropped. My heart aches for everyone who loved and cared about you, and for our whole community. We spent a week teaching filmmaking and marketing to disabled young adults. Your kindness during that week left such an impression on me. I remember how your whole face lit up when you spoke about your girlfriend. I thought, “Wow. I can’t wait to meet her one day.” There was so much love in the way you spoke about her. I also remember asking, “RJ, I’m in a new film. Would you like to see it?” You said yes. You sat down right in front of me, took my laptop, and watched all 15 minutes of My Little Caregiver. I acted in the film, which was directed by two talented young directors, Sam Solomon and Goldmond Fong. Right then and there. Who does that? You did. You gave it your full attention. When we talked afterward, I felt you understood what we were trying to say. You saw the message and the people who needed to hear it. Then you started sharing ideas about how to market it and reach those people. You encouraged me to promote it. You believed in Sam’s story, and that meant so much to me. That week gave me memories I’m grateful to have. Thank you for taking the time, for your encouragement, and for sharing your ideas so generously. Such a gentleman. Such a beautiful soul. We will miss you @rjmitte I believe the soul is eternal. I will carry your kindness and these memories with me. From the 2023 archives: a screening memory with @solomonsgame Sam Solomon, @sethliamellis Seth Liam Ellis, and some of our guests celebrating @mylittlecaregiver My Little Caregiver at the @wemakemovies We Make Movies Film Festival. 🎬 My Little Caregiver stars Seth Liam Ellis, and I had the joy of playing Leni, his character’s mother. Seth brought such care and talent to his performance. I’m proud of his work and grateful we got to share this story. Amazing actor @julianvidaurrazaga plated Seth’s basketball buddy and they had lots of time to have fun together with the other kids in the laser tag scene. At the 2023 Micheaux Film Festival, Seth received a nomination in the Dramatic Actor, Short Form category, and the film won Outstanding Dramatic Short. Watch Seth’s amazing performance in My Little Caregiver: https://vimeo.com/780939733 Written by Sam Solomon, the film follows a mother and son as they navigate the healthcare system and gaps in caregiving support. Directors Sam Solomon and Goldmond Fong, together with producer Benjamin Bradley-Gilbert, director of photography __vivianlau Vivian Lau, and our creative team, brought this meaningful story to life. The film is dedicated to Sam’s beautiful mother. We had fun making the film, too. The laser tag scene, with family joining in, is a memory I especially love. Here we are sharing another moment together at the screening. 💛 @sethliamellis @mylittlecaregiver @wemakemovies Film credits: Directors: @goldmond and @solomonsgame Producers: @solomonsgame, @goldmond, and @benbradleygilbert Director of photography: __vivianlau Visual effects: @kitchensoftbox Cast: @sethliamellis, @andreajenningscreative, and @julianvidaurrazaga Production designer: @vslcarlos Film music: Jack Bradley Editor: @goldmond Screenplay: @solomonsgame With appreciation: @ashleyysla @amandaktroisi @kmrgail @kmrtalent @leslierenee3 @kmcgrath28 Image Description: Andrea Jennings joins Sam Solomon, Seth Liam Ellis, and fellow screening attendees in a coordinated pose to music. From the 2023 archives: celebrating @mylittlecaregiver My Little Caregiver at a film screening with this wonderful creative team: directors @solomonsgame Sam Solomon and @goldmond Goldmond Fong, and producer @benbradleygilbert Benjamin Bradley-Gilbert. We posed side by side to Frank Ocean’s “Pink + White” with serious expressions, but @goldmond still managed to sneak in a dance move, which I love. 😄 Watch My Little Caregiver through director of photography Vivian Lau’s portfolio link. watch My Little Caregiver now - https://vivian-lau.com/portfolio/my-little-caregiver Also, Link in my bio Image Description: Andrea Jennings stands with her cane with Sam Solomon, Goldmond Fong, and Benjamin Bradley-Gilbert at a 2023 screening of My Little Caregiver. More moving frames and setups from the short film My Little Caregiver. - One of my favorite shots on my reel: creating a dream sequence where our child protagonist enters a state of mind where he is a super hero in his own home. We pulled this colorful textures sequence off as a dance between production design, our Steadicam operator, and our actor. Every single crew member on set helped pull this shot off! - Passage of time to illustrate the amount of time our protagonist is spending on hold on the phone. Using changes to the quality, texture, and direction of our key light to mimic the sun’s passage. - Incredible cabinet rig the production design and grip departments collaborated to make so we could shoot through a cabinet as our character pulls out a cereal box. BTS of this rig on a post on my profile! - Overhead table top food beauty shot. Love throwing a glossy commercial shot into a heartfelt character driven drama. - Day for Night bedroom scene Directors @solomonsgame @goldmond Writer @solomonsgame Producer @benbradleygilbert Production Manager @professional.adventurer 1st AD @amandaktroisi DP @__vivianlau 1st ac @aliarminio @odrmtt 2nd ac @lizhamer_ Steadicam @ar_steadicam Gaffer @wongjoannzy BBE Tony Tehle Key Grip @harperthomas BBG @db_2.8_22 Sound Giovanni Chiesa Art Director Andrew Caso Set Dressers Mitch Dillion, Maelina Hassel HMU & BTS @jess_milad PA @islandley Editor @goldmond VFX @madebybala Color @cameronmarygold Shot on the @arri Alexa Mini LF on @7isatribe @blackwing lenses.
