Shout out to @tianicolephotography for putting up with me, @solreflection and @r.e.l.casale for my first (and probably last, for at least a decade anyways) ME photo shoot.

Anyone who knows me, knows I do NOT love being in front of the camera. Which also makes me very empathetic to my subjects. I thought about that a lot this week photographing folks at another amazing summit in Maine.

But I also know that I run two businesses, and have zero professional photos of me on my websites, so it was time.

I picked Tia because I love her style, and I made the right choice. I wanted someone I didn't know very well, and she was absolutely perfect. (Also she's super cool.)

The four of us had WAY too much fun.

And it only took a cocktail or two (well, and some amazing styling by @solreflection , and some bra-lending by @r.e.l.casale bc I forgot one, and a great photog @tianicolephotography) to not make me look like a complete dingus. Sorry for the pee pee pants, Marisol. I love y'all :)

For our queer artist meetup in August, we cannot wait for @solreflection aka “The Fashion Therapist” to lead us on a sojourn through personal style! For so many trans and gender nonconforming folks, it can be strange to get dressed. Clothes that worked a year ago no longer fit or bring on dysphoria…one day a femme shirt feels perfect but the next day it gives the ick, what hair length, all black everything or maximalism?! This is for all of us who are figuring out how to express ourselves as the multidimensional beings we are now!

Expressing Your Authentic Self Through Your Personal Style: A Creative, Hands-On Workshop

This offering uses collage, imagery, and intuitive exploration to uncover the visual themes, values, and inspirations shaping your personal style. Through a guided process of collecting and arranging images, you’ll gain new insight into how you want to express yourself and leave with a meaningful piece of artwork that reflects your evolving sense of self.

After the unforgettable journey we shared through Italy, we knew the story could not end there.

Made in France: A Style & Soul Immersion with Marisol Colette

From the creative energy of Paris to the slower rhythm of Provence, this eight-day retreat will explore style, culture, craftsmanship, and self-expression.

Together with @solreflection , we will discover fashion as something deeply personal, while experiencing private ateliers, French gastronomy, artisan traditions, vineyards, hilltop villages, and long shared meals.

But just like Italy, this journey is about much more than the places we visit. It is about connection, inspiration, and the transformation that happens when women come together with intention.

No words can properly express the joy I felt in Dallas last week at the @hueandstripe conference.

To be in a room with 150 image consultants and stylists who don’t view one another as competition, but as collaborators, was exactly what my ❤️ needed.

I had the opportunity to speak on a panel, host a Mentor Power Hour, laugh with friends I hadn’t seen in years, and meet so many talented stylists who all showed up with the same positive energy and generous spirit.

And the icing on the cake? They surprised us with an awards ceremony, and I received an award recognizing my loyalty, dedication, and contribution to our community over the past 10 years.

I’m deeply grateful for this recognition and for the love, support, and friendships that have come from being part of this incredible community.

Apparently, I’ve officially reached OG Stylist status. 😂🙏🏾

Three days in Dallas, and I’m heading home with a notebook full of ideas, a long list of things I can’t wait to implement, and a whole new group of friends who truly understand this industry.

One of the best parts of this experience was being surrounded by so many talented stylists, each with their own unique perspective, approach, and point of view. It was a reminder that there is no one right way to build a business, and that individuality is what makes this industry so interesting.

I learned so much over the last few days, and I’m excited to bring that knowledge back to Styled by Lys to create an even better experience for my clients.

A huge thank you to the @hueandstripe team for putting together such a thoughtful, organized, and seamless event. What they’ve built is incredibly special, and it’s clear how much work goes into creating a space where stylists can learn, connect, and grow.

Feeling inspired, energized, and grateful. Already counting down to next year! 😉

A few days in Dallas, and I’m heading home with laptop full of notes, a head full of ideas, and a renewed appreciation for the power of being in rooms that challenge and inspire you!!!

This week at the @hueandstripe Stylist Conference, I had the opportunity to learn from, connect with, and exchange ideas with some of the most talented stylists and creative entrepreneurs in the industry.

One thing I’m reminded of again and again: growth rarely happens in isolation. It happens through conversation, shared experiences, thoughtful feedback, and being surrounded by people who raise the standard. I want to once again say thank you to everyone who’s shared a piece of their wisdom (on and off the stage!) this past week! You are all magic ✨

I’m returning home energized, grateful, and already thinking about how to translate what I learned into an even better experience for my clients.

The future of Style Architect feels clearer than ever, and I can’t wait to bring you along for what’s next.🤎
