I told myself I wouldn’t cry when we dropped you off. I was wrong. I cried then… and the tears are back again just trying to find the words to say this.
You made my job as a father easy by simply being you. There is an old soul in you, a quiet strength and a grounded focus that I have watched in awe for years. You are humble, you are patient, and you are far more disciplined than I ever was at your age.

Getting into NCAT is just the latest proof that when you give your word, you keep it. You have exceeded every hope I ever had for you son. Watching the man you are becoming is my greatest honor. I see the way your brothers look at you, and I find peace knowing they have you as someone to look up to.

Go represent our name with the honor I know you carry in your heart. You’ve already made your family proud now, go make yourself proud.

My oldest son is officially a high school graduate! Watching him go on prom last week and walking across the stage today reminded me how fast time flies. From diapers to diplomas, you’ve made me proud every step of the way. I couldn’t ask for anything more than what he already is, disciplined, respectful, focused, and a perfect role model for his brothers. Watching him grow into the man he’s becoming has been one of my greatest blessings. Way to #GTSD @ashtoonnn._
