We’re proud to share a first look at Nanny’s BBQ, a new Northwest BBQ joint coming to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as part of @flysea ‘s Central Concourse Expansion, slated to open in time to welcome FIFA World Cup visitors this summer. Rooted in Pacific Northwest hospitality and family legacy, Nanny’s brings together slow-smoked classics, locally sourced ingredients, and a modern and elevated dining experience tailored for one of the region’s most dynamic global gateways. The restaurant blends Southern BBQ traditions with Seattle’s Filipino cultural influences, creating a warm, nostalgic, and distinctly regional sense of place for travelers passing through Sea-Tac. For our studio, this project marks a momentous milestone, the opportunity to work on restaurant project at an international scale within a complex, high-performance airport environment, and with an extremely talented design, engineering and consultant team. Immense gratitude to @heighconnectsfood for the opportunity to collaborate and tell their family story, our Owner’s Reps Falkin Associates, our AOR collaborator @mancini_duffy , and our entire consultant team for their support of our clients. I’m told that grief never truly goes away, it only evolves as we do. This year i spent a hell of a lot my time grieving my old life. There were some real heavy moments and I often let the heaviness outweigh everything else. A few days ago I looked back at photos and videos from the year and i found myself saying “ Oh deng that happened!!?” a looooot. I held on to the past for better or for worst making it really hard for me to see life happening right in front of me. It just reminded me that shit will always hit the fan but life is still great in so many ways - what am i going to choose to see? Carrying that reminder for good. Onwards!!!

A huge congratulations to our incredible clients, BF Foods + Heigh Connects, for securing the prestigious FB1 package in the Port of Seattle ‘s C-Concourse Capital Expansion Project at SeaTac airport! 🎉✈️ This past spring, we embarked on a 3-month intensive design exploration, pouring our creativity and expertise into crafting visionary concepts for not one, but two dining and retail spaces at SeaTac Airport. The competition was fierce, but through the tireless dedication of our talented team, we’re proud to have helped bring our clients’ visions to life. The C Concourse Expansion Project will transform the area where C and D Concourses meet by adding four floors to the building’s current three floors. In addition to 11 new dining and retail spaces, the project adds new premium lounge space, an Interfaith Prayer and Meditation room, a nursing room, and an outdoor viewing area, referred to as the Lookout at C. SEA’s award-winning Airport Dining & Retail (ADR) program focuses on providing the traveling public with shops, restaurants, and services that exceed their expectations for customer service, quality, variety, affordability and that reflect a Pacific Northwest sense of place. The ADR program offers an excellent opportunity to advance the Port’s Century Agenda goals by enhancing the airport’s profile as the preferred gateway to the Pacific Northwest, by promoting job growth, and by creating new opportunities for small, local, and disadvantaged businesses. Allow us to reintroduce ourselves! Hello and welcome to all the new faces. 🤗 It’s about time we hop on here and share a little bit about who we are and our story, long overdue! We are Sonia-Lynn and Sergio Max and we are both born and raised in the beautiful city of Seattle, Washington. We quit our 9-5’s and founded La Union Studio 6 years ago this July, hoping to disrupt the architecture and design industry by leading a more-authentic, culturally aware and human-centered approach to design. Since 2018, entrepreneurship has allowed us to help dozens of homeowners and business owners design and build their dream homes/spaces. We are a relationship-focused design studio centered on values of culture, creativity, community and collaboration, and we create landmarks that are emblematic of our clients’ culture, craft and brand. Over the last two years, we were able to acquire, design and build our very own dream studio in the heart of the neighborhood we both grew up in (thank you to all our partners in the Business Community Ownership Fund)! While this space will help our team grow and expand our reach in the region, it’s as much a resource and hub for our clients and partners as it is an inspiration for us. That means YOU!
