Hello fellow animals, anata laylay here🌼 We’re so excited to continue our Slow Social Club workshops! Our next one is upcoming on Sunday, July 6th with featured artist for July, Sarita Opal Moodie. This month, let’s explore the beautiful and unpredictable world of cyanotype printing on fabric. Using sunlight, found botanicals, hand drawn patterns, and pre-treated textiles, we’ll create cyan blue-and-white prints of the shapes and textures of nature.  About Sarita: As a landscape designer and artist, her work is grounded in an intimate relationship with the natural world. Drawing on her background in garden design and her lifelong love of plants, she has been creating textile pieces using printing and dyeing techniques inspired by imagery of the natural world. Each piece is an exploration of pattern, place, and process. Play is central to her practice: she approaches her art with curiosity, experimenting with different techniques and embracing the unexpected as part of the story. She especially loves sharing art experiences with others, through pop-up offerings of open studios, community dye vats and  playshops.  Materials: Sunlight, ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide, and found botanicals at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre. Reading: To be announced When: Sunday, July 6; 11am - 2pm  Where: Hosted at Sunshine Coast Arts Centre 5714 Medusa St, Sechelt No Registration Required Slide 1: Graphic with a photo of Sarita and one of her cyanotype fabric pieces; the text, “Slow Social Club with Sarita Odal Moodie; July 6; Cyanotype with SCAC garden plants and found materials; 11AM-2PM Sunshine Coast Arts Centre 5714 Medusa St, Sechelt; The Only Animal Theatre Company logo” is in black text in white black-bordered boxes. There are four boxes in the middle that are dark green and a light yellowish green.  Slide 2: A video of rinsing fabric with a botanical cyanotype print on it Slide 3: Folded cyanotype printed shirts photographed in the sun on the grass
