Dilli se bas kuch meel door hai woh desh, jahan shayad mere kuch rishtedaar hote. Sarhadon ne faasle badha diye. Laga jaise Dilli se New York tak ka safar isi baithak ke liye tha, un logon ke saath jo apne hi lagte hain, khuda ko uske har roop mein yaad karne.

दिल्ली से बस कुछ मील दूर है वो देश, जहाँ शायद मेरे कुछ रिश्तेदार होते। सरहदों ने फ़ासले बढ़ा दिए। लगा जैसे दिल्ली से न्यूयॉर्क तक का सफ़र इसी बैठक के लिए था, जहाँ उन लोगों के साथ, जो शक्ल और तहज़ीब में अपने ही लगते हैं, मिलकर ख़ुदा को उसके हर रूप में याद किया।

Did younger me ever picture sitting in a Khayaal and Qawwali baithak in New York? Maybe she would have wished for this. And here I was, a few miles of border away from home, finding a piece of it in my heart.

It takes a village. And ASC’s village consists of multi-talented, passionate people and partners who envision a sustainable future for seafood! 🐟

Last week we hosted a first-of-its-kind reception during Climate Week NYC called “Driving Change with Certified Seafood: A Farm to Fork Culinary Journey with ASC.” A community of seafood lovers brought this celebration to life, starting with artist and illustrator @nkpcreate, whose colorful designs highlighted the ASC story, label and impacts.

Sustainable seafood advocate and chef @arimillerx of @posthastephilly worked with @kikiarantia and @poidogforever sauces to curate a creative and unforgettably mouthwatering menu featuring ASC-certified seafood. Guests enjoyed the full farm to fork experience, indulging in fresh @arteseans scallop crudo on the half shell, @lagunablancasalmon croquettes and gravlax on pickle juice pretzels, @minnowworld tinned smoked trout pan con tomate, and @blue_ocean_mariculture Hawaiian Kanpachi tataki, finishing with sweet bites of seaweed panna cotta and Poi Dog Chili Peppah Water golden gummy fish.

No Climate Week NYC meal is complete without a variety of sustainable spirits and we were honored to be supported by community and planet-oriented businesses @tedward_ws, @lovecitybrewing and @tamworth_distilling, whose “Crab Trapper Whiskey” - made using invasive green crabs - was a hit!

Throughout the evening, ASC’s team and CEO Chris Ninnes spoke with guests about the key role seafood plays not only in healthy diets, but across global food systems. Proof that certified seafood can taste great and make us feel good, while working to strengthen food security for generations to come. 🌎

Last night, Matteo Cibic @matteocibic presented Godgirl at @sommwhere.nyc. Composed of his drawings and poems by @chiarabsitzia, the project is collected in a limited edition book of 100 copies. Matteo drew live portraits of the guests throughout the evening.

The night also marked the first showing of a special Domsai edition made by some of the Salotto residents.
