As we approach mid-October, we pause to recognize Latine Heritage Month and the complexity of intersecting queer + Latine identities. There are spaces that honor and celebrate, here in Seattle (the base of Queering Consent) and beyond!

I didn't want to let Pride Month come to a close without saying something.

It's been a busy season. My focus has shifted, many of my evenings, weekends, and free time are spent campaigning. Between wearing the many hats that come with my day jobs, serving my community, and running for State Representative, there have even been a few things I unintentionally missed along the way. I know it won't always be like this, and the hard work is worth it. But no matter how busy life gets, Pride isn't something I put away after June. It's part of who I am.

For me, Pride is not one month. When I owned my shop, I sold Pride items 365 days a year because, for us, Pride doesn't end when the calendar turns to July. We live it every day. It's simply part of who we are.

I've had the privilege of speaking at Pride events, helping raise the Pride flag at City Hall, celebrating alongside this community for many years, and now, for the third year in a row as an elected official, continuing that tradition. But long before any title, I was raising my kids with Pride. I love them dearly, and I'm proud of the people they've become.

I'm proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I know not everyone is in a place where they can live openly, and every person's journey is different. This is my story. This is my representation. I won't shy away from who I am because visibility matters. Sometimes simply existing openly helps someone else believe they can, too.

Happy Pride everyone, today and every day. 🏳️‍🌈❤️

🌈 Come make a Berry Proud Margarita with us!

For the entire month, we’re donating 10% of every Berry Proud Margarita sold to the Lavender Rights Project, an organization that provides legal advocacy, housing support, and community resources for LGBTQ+ individuals.

We believe Pride is about celebrating, supporting, and showing up for our community. So if you’re stopping by for a margarita this month, know that you’re helping us give back too. ❤️

Cheers to good drinks, good people, and a great cause. 🍹🌈🔥

Last Monday, Entre Hermanos stood in Olympia for Trans Advocacy Day — alongside members of our community and powerful partner organizations committed to defending the rights of our trans siblings.

We showed up to advocate for visibility. Dignity. Protection.

In a moment when trans lives are being targeted across the country, we stand firmly and unapologetically in defense of our community.

We are proud to stand alongside Gender Justice League, Traction, Queer Power Alliance, Oasis Youth Center, PFLAG, Indivisible, GSBA Washington, Trans WA, QLaw, Somos Seattle, Lavender Rights Project, Trans Survival Bellingham, Queer Community Network, and Planned Parenthood, and so many others united in action.
Trans rights are human rights.

Our community deserves safety.
Our community deserves respect.
Our community deserves to thrive.

We will continue to show up, loudly, strategically, and together.
