Yesterday I was given a special commendation award for my work at the East Oakland Senior Center. I was completely shock and brought to tears. Just when I was feeling overwhelmed, unappreciated & overworked these past few months, I got myself up everyday went to work to be of service for my community & my seniors being the only staff on site! EOSC is thriving and one of the best senior centers! I keep them busy!

Yesterday I was exhausted and running on fumes making sure @son_of_oakland & Lidit “who is amazing at her job” Thanksgiving Luncheon was a success & it was! A Huge Success!!!!!

Thank You for this special award & visiting our center. Mayor Barbara Lee, President of the City Council Kevin Jenkins, Assist City Administrator Michelle Phillips, Council member Ken Houston and Lidit Director for District 7.

Every Wednesday I try to be outside with our amazing food pantry team, who service our seniors along with over 200 people getting food! We have tables out for those in need to take clothing, shoes, toys! If you have items that can be donated or would like to donate your time this holiday season, please reach out.
We really need men and children clothing!

I’m collecting slightly used warm coats and new socks to pass out during December. “The dollar store has socks”. Please bring to the center and donate. Please Reach out to me!

The center is open M-Thur from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Please stop by & see our amazing center & meet our beautiful seniors, have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with us! The age to join is 55!

Thank You Again! Everyone!

Repost if you support positivity 🫡

It was a great honor to help set up and serve our elder community yesterday at the @eastoaklandseniorcenter9255 . We held a Thanksgiving luncheon for them, and it was a beautiful turnout filled with love and gratitude.

Special shoutout to @son_of_oakland , @mayorbarbaralee , and @lidlove247 for the opportunity — truly appreciate you all.

Can’t wait to continue doing more positive work together for the community. 🙏🏾🧡

Thank you to City Councilmember Houston and Wang for each hosting a Community Conversation on Charter Reform this past week. Thank you to the League of Women Voters of Oakland and SPUR for co-hosting.

Join us for future conversations about the charter, what it does, and how it guides our city. We will brainstorm changes that can be made to create an Oakland that works better for everyone.

This is your opportunity to help shape an accountable Oakland government that works for everyone.
