POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sometimes it’s a shape. Sometimes a texture. Sometimes it’s wondering how someone thought to make it in the first place. Seven artists and studios whose work caught our eye, working across paper, clay, wood and mixed media. A few names you may know, and a few we’re glad to introduce. Save this for your next art or design discovery. Whose work would you add to the list?

The Pause: On Bringing Indian Art Into Our Work

Over the past decade, I’ve seen a new generation of Indian artists come into their own. There’s a certain fearlessness in their work - through unexpected materials, experimentation, and a deep respect for craft.

This has always been close to my heart, and in every project, we try to make space for it. It becomes the one element in a room that tells you something true about where we come from and where we are going.

Designing across geographies, I find myself returning to this more consciously - placing Indian art in homes beyond India and giving it the global recognition it deserves.

I got myself my first official art work!!!
Wearing big girl pants.
I wanted something textured, timeless and rooted.
ART BY @sonaliachare.studio ( she is absolutely brilliant, a recommendation i swear by )
The art work is intricate and took over 2 months to make! I was astonished by how good it looks in real life. ( kind of the point of ART )

It’s going to be very special, always!!

I did what i do best.. visualise the transitioning of this art into my wardrobe choices. 🤎🖌️

The Pause: A Contemporary Dialogue

In The West Coast Project, art becomes the emotional anchor. It’s where the architecture gently recedes, allowing curated perspectives to shape how the home feels.

Here’s a round-up of some of my favourite art moments in the space.

— Wildlife photography by Premal Joisher in the study, bringing a serene intensity that softens the vertical fluting and adds a moment of quiet focus.

— Sculptural works by @sonaliachare.studio that introduce a tactile layer, celebrating materiality and the maker’s hand.

— An abstract triptych by @rathnayake_jc that punctuates the neutral shell with movement and mosaic-like energy.

This edition of The Pause celebrates a home where texture and geometry hold equal weight — where stillness and movement exist in quiet balance.

The Heritage House

Every space begins as a conversation. Then, a sketch. Then, dust.

Here’s an intimate glimpse into the journey of The Heritage House—our translation of classic inspiration and a client’s deep trust into a tangible, tranquil home. It’s the story of Slow Design in motion, capturing the unseen moments—from the first architectural plans and the hands of master artisans to the final, hand-applied layer of lime wash plaster.

Our vision for this residence was to create a modern heirloom. A home where Modern Classic Design is softened by the sensory calm of Quiet Luxury, and where every detail—from the geometric marble inlays to the bespoke cabinetry—is an act of pure intention.

We are so proud to finally share this story of craft, collaboration, and quiet coherence. Welcome to The Heritage House.

An early marker.

Raw, imperfect, and deeply grounding.
A reminder that showing up is also part of the work. I carry this memory with quiet gratitude.

(My first exhibit - a year ago.)
Still holding space for what’s next, whenever it arrives.

Eklavya House - Living & Dining - Mumbai

The mood of the living-dining area is in muted natural tones, a signature colour language adopted by the studio, and loved by the clients due to its calming and close-to-earth tones and textures.
