this summer we closed out the long running @sondheimunplugged series at @54below and at our final show I sang a song that has haunted me since I first heard it in high school

coming up on 17 years in NYC and contemplating all the sacrifices we make as artists, but so grateful for work that grows and enriches with age and understanding

This was my very first Broadway show. What was yours?

The Original Broadway Cast of Into the Woods is one of those rare casts that feels almost impossible to imagine improving upon.

The Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical opened on Broadway in 1987, led by Bernadette Peters as the Witch, Joanna Gleason as the Baker’s Wife, Chip Zien as the Baker, Kim Crosby as Cinderella, Robert Westenberg as Cinderella’s Prince/The Wolf, Danielle Ferland as Little Red Riding Hood, and Ben Wright as Jack.

Joanna Gleason’s performance became especially legendary, earning her the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, while Sondheim won for Best Original Score and Lapine for Best Book.

Much love and "real cool" to the company of @sondheimunplugged's final two shows this Sunday, June 28th at 7:00 and 9:30pm ET, both at @54below. We have tons of footage from appearances in this series dating back to 2010, and were thrilled to be on the Grammy-nominated album series. We are unable to perform this Sunday due to professional conflicts, but encourage audiences everywhere to grab a ticket in person in New York City, or a high-quality Livestream link! Here's us performing "Cool," from "West Side Story" #sondheim #newyorkcity #music
