Also got this Sonic Youth lot tee back in the mail today. This is a shirt that my wife (@futuredazevintage) bought at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on March 3, 1993 (Dirty tour) in the parking lot and chopped the sleeves off. I decided I wanted to put sleeves back on and decided to go with long sleeves. I have no idea if they were originally long sleeves or short sleeve but I love a good long sleeve white lot tee. I sent this shirt off to @elevated.atelier along with a long sleeves donor I sourced that was from the same period (different type blank) and he did a fantastic job attaching the sleeves. They look like they were always on there. I guess this is now something of a fantasy piece but it’s for me and my wife to wear and enjoy and not for sale. Thanks again to @elevated.atelier, send him your projects, he is an artist and does amazing restoration work. Scroll through to see some stock images from that show (with annoying watermarks), credited to photographer Media Punch.

NFS. T-America blank.

DIRTY. The best Sonic Youth in my collection isn’t even mine, it’s my wife’s (@futuredazevintage), a personal piece from the 90s. Still kicking myself for selling a black variation of this shirt (with a full band photo back hit) we grabbed at a record store in Italy for 75 Euro, but we got a decent price at that time. Probably won’t ever see that one again. The front art is one of Mike Kelley’s iconic stuffed animal sculptures, and there’s a DIRTY text hit on the sleeve.

Brockum tag, made in USA.

Here’s a Sonic Youth shirt I got at one of the two shows I saw them play, but I honestly can’t remember which one it was. It would have been either 2000s or early 2010s (right before they disbanded). I don’t think I realized until recently that the image is of Shelly Duvall from THE SHINING, pretty sure this is another Tannis Root production and the image recalls their much earlier “Starpower” single image (and shirt).
